That’s What She Sang

Last year’s American Idol victory song — “No Boundaries” which was written by AI judge Kara DioGuardi — never really took off.  As a matter of fact, runner-up Kris Allen dropped it from the repertoire of songs he sings on the American Idol tour.  According to him, it slowed down the momentum of the shows.

Kara, the scrappy songwriter, just released a studio recording of herself singing the tune.  Is it my imagination, or does this song sound a lot better being sung by a woman?

  • def sounds better on a female voice. and i don’t think kris allen has the voice to hit the high notes in the song. it always sounded like he was straining to hit the high notes. i think kara has a good voice but i don’t think she had that “it” factor.

  • The lyrics are just too cheesy for me. Who tries to squeeze hurricane into a song? Other than “rock you like a hurricane..” But I digress. Seriously, there are way too many words jammed in quickly together and then she has to take a single syllable word and drag it out with warbling to make it all fit. Obviously words and music written separately. That said, uh.. still… ew. Maybe it’s just not my kind of music?! I do think she has skill and a good voice. There- I was nice and it’s Monday. <- extra effort

    • Oh wow… you just got me to go listen to Adam’s version and MAN had I ever forgotten how good he was! I’m readdicted now! LoL This guy CAN SING!!!

P.S.: Kara’s is def better than Chris’. I don’t even know how the guy got past the top 10. He’s good, but there was much better.

  • —————————————She is my favorite. Just saw her on milllionaire personals site “”””” M e e t i n g W e a l t h y . c o m”””””last week. I am wondering what kind of relationship she is looking for on that site.Is she single again now?——————

  • A MILLION times better with a female voice. Maybe she wrote it just for herself, and then threw it at Idol?
