Seth MacFarlane: “Stewie Is Gay”

Seth MacFarlane

Yep, according to Family Guy star Seth MacFarlane, Stewie is conflicted now, but hopefully he’ll come to grips with his truth.  Despite the fact that FG is an animated and therefore fictional show, we should all brace ourselves for the protests that are sure to follow this bombshell outing.

“We had an episode that went all the way to the script phase in which Stewie does come out,” MacFarlane,  the show’s creator, says in the September issue of Playboy magazine. “It had to do with the harassment he took from other kids at school. He ends up going back in time to prevent a passage in Leviticus from being written: ‘Thou shalt not lie with mankind as with womankind. It is an abomination.’

“But we decided it’s better to keep it vague, which makes more sense because he’s a 1-year-old. Ultimately, Stewie will be gay or a very unhappy repressed heterosexual. It also explains why he’s so hellbent on killing [his mother, Lois] and taking over the world: He has a lot of aggression, which comes from confusion and uncertainty about his orientation.”

I only have one thing to say to all the right-wing Bible thumpers that will most assuredly arrive in droves after learning of this immoral, animated character:  What are you doing reading Playboy interviews?

  • No. No they dont AppleCat.

Thats a cute cat BTW :)

I cant recall a “right wing bible thumper” style protest against this show. If they did protest the five unisex looking individuals must not have tipped of Fox or CNN. dorks.

    • That’s what I was thinking too.
Actually I was thinking, “Who the hell doesn’t know Stewie is gay?”

      • YES, YES, YES to all the above posters. I thought this was common knowledge.. guess he is just confiming?? idk

      • Agreed, but in the last season he had a crush on Bonnie and Joe’s new baby girl, remember? So, he was more sexually questionable.

      • Exactly, to me, he’s bi. There was his love for Olivia, then at the funeral, “I’d do her, I’d do her…” however he’s totally in love with Brian.

Of course in the episode where he found his future self, that guy was totally sexually repressed.

  • Isn’t anybody going to call them on the tired old stereotype that gay men have mommy issues? Lots of gay men have excellent relationships with their parents, and God knows plenty of straight guys have severely fucked up ones.

  • Uh, so if Stewie is gay, how long do I have to wait before I blow him in a steamroom at some obscure health club?

  • Heaven’s forbid we use truth in content and remember Sodom and Gormorrah as fact in a cartoon about a fictional child character with a mommie kill gay problem.

  • seth is having his cake and eating it too… i’ve been watching family guy for years and stewie’s sexuality bounces back and forth depending on the episode. stereotyping is so gay.

  • I thought this was really old news. I remember hearing it before. The unaired episode, I mean. Maybe it was a rumour that turned out to be true.
