The National Enquirer Says DNA Test Proves John Edwards Fathered Rielle Hunter’s Baby

Just in case his political career weren’t completely, totally and utterly obliterated already, The National Enquirer — which has been freakishly accurate in its coverage of this story — says a secret DNA test proves that John Edwards is in fact the father of his mistress’s daughter, Frances Quinn Hunter.

Rielle Hunter is currently believed to be testifying in secret grand jury proceedings regarding whether Edwards used campaign finance money to keep her quiet after she got pregnant. She was spotted last week in Raleigh, N.C., entering a federal courthouse, where she spent nine hours, but the U.S. attorney’s office in Raleigh has declined to confirm or deny an investigation.

I don’t really care what the DNA test results say. It doesn’t matter. Look at this little girl. She’s a dead ringer for John Edwards, and she has been basically from birth. There’s no doubt it’s his kid.

  • We dodged a bullet there. I can’t stand to look at his face! For all of Bush’s flaws (if you agree he had any), at least he seemed loyal to his wife.

  • I feel so bad for his wife, this must have broken her heart again. She was in treatment for CANCER when he cheated on her! This guy is the biggest douche in politics. Well excluding Obama and his useless health care plan.

    • Right…cause trying to help Americans stay healthy is even on the same level as getting somebody else pregnant while your wife is dealing with the crippling effects of chemo…

      • Why, of course it is! Didn’t you know that the Dems want all citizens to have health care coverage so that they can really kill off the elderly? So that’s why Obama is worse than Edwards. It’s the Soylent Green factor that edges out the win…

      • I am making fun of people like Sarah Palin and Sen. Grassley talking about “Death Panels”

      • Well if you did a bit of research, you will be informed that Obama’s health care plan isn’t going to do much to change the current system, though change is what our country desperately needs, and yet it will cost trillions of dollars there for putting this America’s economy in a more financially drained state.

      • Trillions? The CBO budgeted 1.2 tril for current plan by 2015 (or 1.04 by 2019 if you look at Kennedy’s plan), and that does *not* factor in all the various savings. I don’t particularly like the current proposal (there is no official bill as yet), but I do believe in accuracy.

      • Thanks for assuming I know nothing about my government. You’re wrong, but whatever.

Back to my original point; A man who carries on an affair that meets his own needs at the expense of his wife, who’s dealing with chemo and her own mortality, is not comparable to a President who’s attempting to make changes that benefit the people he has sworn to serve.

      • First off, forgive me because I shouldn’t have assumed you didn’t know anything about government. But I didn’t make that statement to downplay the disgusting decision Edwards made, but I will certainly not condone Obama’s ill-fated attempt to help the American people. *Again* I must inform you, Alzaetia, this is simply my opinion and not too big of a deal.

      • Nobody asked you to condone Obama’s health care plan.
You brought it into a discussion about a guy who got another woman pregnant while his wife was battling cancer.
The two have nothing to do with each other. That’s all I was saying originally, and then you started treating me like I know nothing about my government.

      • Why is it so important to point out that they have nothing to do with each other? In my humble opinion, they have one thing in common: they are both political figures who I don’t like very much which I already said, so I don’t exactly get why that isn’t understood.

Alzaetia, I’m sure you’re a really cool person off the internet and all but I’m getting really annoyed with the consistent replying to most of my comments. It’s my opinion and questioning it doesn’t have much of a point. I’m sorry, maybe this is just PMS, but the constant replies are really a pain. Lately I’ve literally been hesitant to comment on both this website and Zelda Lily because I can totally expect some kind of comment from you criticizing what I just said.

      • Maybe it is the PMS. Have you noticed that I’m not the only person who replies to things you say? Have you noticed that I reply to many other people who are not you? I swear, I have no special feelings about you one way or another.

Your comparison of a man cheating on his wife and a President trying to extend health care to his citizens is an extremely annoying logical fallacy.

      • I want to know who comes up with these “facts” How is it possible that if America becomes like other first world countries and adopts a national health care plan it will have a disastrous effect on America that it never did in any other country?

Personally although I live in Canada I do not like nationalized health care. It is pretty good, but personally I believe that only children up to when they graduate from university and elederly people should have access to tax funded health care. It pisses me off that I pay taxes for health care which I do not even want. I believe in naturopathic medicine, which our tax funded health care does not cover.

  • what is wrong with this woman’s hair?! can’t she get a hot oil treatment or a trim or something? it is hideous in every photo i’ve ever seen of her.

  • What is interesting about this “relationship” is that she was basically homeless, couch surfing and briefly dated Jay McInerney in 80’s and was a flake and druggie by reputation – I don’t think she’s a great beauty so that begs the question what was one of the most visible politicians in the country doing with HER? The fact that he betrayed his dying wife and chose her treatment plan which ensured she would die is a whole other story.

Does anyone really believe they would tell this woman where her 10k+ a month was coming from, talk about a loose cannon – I can’t imagine giving her much of any information as she was telling everyone and anyone she knew she was sleeping with him during the campaign. Edwards thankfully showed his true colors before getting in office or being tapped for any high ranking position in this administration but I doubt she knew or cared where her money was coming from she had a mansion and more money than earned as an adult, or would earn either. What a mess and yes the child is his doppelganger, there is no denying paternity.

    • I wonder if Edwards is one of those guys that can’t say no to any woman that puts it out there for him?

With what he and his wife went through together, it is one of the more mystifying betrayals I have ever seen.

And even though he couldn’t be man enough to not devastate his marriage, he hopefully will be man enough to provide something more to his child than just some shekels every month.

      • And that’s gotta be the worst part for his wife. I wouldn’t have any respect for my husband if he walked away from his child. But that means you have to deal with the tangible proof of his affair all the f’ing time.
