Miley Cyrus Invades Walmart

Miley Cyrus

The queen of the pre-teens has teamed up with BCBG designer Max Azria in what appears to be a well-coordinated effort to dilute both their brands. You can check out the full collection they’ve “designed” for Walmart here, but I’ve pulled some of my favorite items and posted them in the gallery below. It’s the best, brightest and cheapest from eight seasons ago. And get this: With the exception of the skinny jeans ($20), nothing in this line retails for more than $12. Most of the shirts are $6 or $7. It must be very exciting for Miley’s 8-year-old Malaysian fans to get to play such an important role in her empire, sewing this shit day and night for $0.25 an hour. Congrats Miley and Max! You’re going to make a lot of money, and all it cost you was your souls.

  • I doesn’t make any difference with the Tommy Hilfiger or Nike brands, but those a re charged even more

    • I got my ears pierced on my 10th birthday. So my parents “let a child get metal put through [my] face”

      • ear piercing is different than nose piercing though! ive seen babies with their ears pierced. also…. she just looks icky with the nose piercing. but i really like the walmart clothes! theyre pretty cute!

  • Nice cheap rip off of the Spice Girls circa ’93! Wow. Are they insane – it’s no different from the wife beaters currently for sale in WalMart. I was forced to go to DeKalb IL, talk about a soulless place but this is usual street wear right now purchased at WM. So they slap a Miley on the tag and it’s a collection now?

Jesus she’s a money machine, that’s crap clothing.

  • im not trying to defend miley cyrus or anything, but i think that its a little unfair the way this article was written. first of all when taylor swift created her line of sundresses, she was praised for having an affordable line of clothing, and not accused of having her “8-year-old Malaysian fans sew(ing) this shit day and night for $0.25 an hour.” also, the clothes that are in the line are not from 8 seasons ago. these clothes actually resemble alot of the clothes that celebrities are wearing TODAY. i think that you are ridiculously prejudiced against miley.

  • its sad that celebrities only care about money..
if only miley knew what wal-mart supported and what the corporation was really about. shame on her for representing that horrible company

  • I actually read Miley’s Tweet the other day about how she “LOVES WALLY WORLD!” And I wanted to stab her. In the face.

I wonder if, as a walmart employee, I can refuse to sell idiots these clothes. “Sorry, you’re only making a problem bigger if you buy these.”

Sigh. Didn’t work for “Miles to go” so I doubt it’ll work for these clothes. Incidently, I only sold one copy of Miles to go.

    • Aren’t you, as a wal*mart employee, also making the problem bigger?
seeing as the problem IS the mega corporation? .. not Miley Cyrus.

    • yeah, really. why don’t you just go work at target? or tj maxx? or old navy? so many alternatives. yet, you work for a company you bash. hypocisy at its best.

  • I’ve seen the stirrup pants and leopard print leggings in person and they are awful!! In my area, there are very very few people (myself included) that need to be swathed in that much spandex, even the teenagers.

  • I know a lot of people rail against Wal-Mart because of their shady business practices, but I think those same people have always had enough money to shop elsewhere.
I grew up in a small town in Michigan and the only two clothing stores we had were Wal-Mart and JC Penney. Add to that the fact that my parents didn’t make a lot of money and had at least 5 kids to clothe for school every year. Were they going to go into debt spending 30 bucks for a shirt at JC Penney or go to Wal-Mart and get several shirts for that 30 dollars. Wal-Mart does a lot of good for low income families. Beet, I know that you grew up semi-wealthy (or you allude to that in your personal blog), but you should maybe think about the income of people who have no choice but to buy bulk at Wal-Mart if they want their kids to eat before you make statements like that.

    • I think the criticism should be not of low income families that shop at Wal-Mart, but business practices that make it so you ONLY HAVE two stores in your town. And I’m sorry, but I know many families don’t have many choices, but that still doesn’t excuse business practices that use child labor, unfair wages and unsafe conditions.

The point is, if we all bought LESS stuff, then we could afford to pay more for the things we have.

For example, why does fashion/society convince us we need “new” clothes for school each year, even if our old ones still fit and are in good condition?

and before someone tries to say something about the wealthy, I did not grow up affluent, and my family did shop at Kmart growing up (walmart was not as ubiquitous 20 years ago).

  • i love me some sweatshops

ill take my walmart clothes with a smile biotch :)

and you can take ur purple ugly ass shiny dress with shoes for a five year old and stick it up ur selfish bitchy self.

  • I go out of my way to shop at Walmart because of all the unfair criticism of it. There are a lot of people who don’t like it, because it’s non-union. But they don’t want to say that so they make up other stuff. I have carefully listened to the Walmart criticism, and I haven’t heard anything that doesn’t also apply to their competition.
Walmart is the biggest retailer in the U.S. Many of miley fans go to Walmart. I wish the entire Cyrus clan continued success in spreading goodwill and love.
The nose piercing is from her movie, The Last Song. At first they used a stickon one, but I don’t know if she ended up finally having it done for real.

  • So tell me guy’s…what else are those poor malaysian children to do for food? Who else will employ them. You are talking about a third world country where parent’s may sell their children, possibly even into the sex slave industry. Who is the bigger evil? Walmart may be their only savior.

    • @Alexander: Hahaha.First of all, do you even know where is Malaysia?Your geography definately sucks because malaysia is not a third world country. They are probably more educated and civilised than you are.Do some background check before you start ranting crap and you are saying miley is superficial?Lol.
