Lindsay Lohan

Far be it for me to deny you all your beloved Daily Lohan feature.  However, I might not be quite as complimentary as Beet is towards this greasy, patchy, overrated, underemployed cyclone.  I’d like to take this moment to thank INFphoto for date stamping their pictures.  Quite honestly, it’s very difficult to keep track of which pictures are which when it’s just Lindsay in leather boots and oily skin.

Today Lindsay headed to driving school.  This is one of the smartest things that she’s done recently.  Or, ever.  She carried a few folders with her that I think we are supposed to think are scripts she’s reviewing.  Projects for her new production company, perhaps.  We know better than that, though.  Don’t we?

Heidi Klum was photographed leaving a New York hotel eating — what else? — an apple.  Boy, if that were me it would have been a box of Limited Edition Shrek Twinkies clutched in my hand.  But that’s why Heidi Klum gains approximately eight pounds per pregnancy and I’m still working on losing baby weight after almost three years.

Anyway, she’s looking healthy and great and might be the only woman I’ve ever seen who makes flip-flops look like a good idea.  I expect her to be on the front of Playboy six weeks postpartum.

It looks like Deputy Riley and Gale Weathers are reuniting at least one more time for the fourth installation in the Scream franchise.  Screenwriter Kevin Williamson is working on the script now and according to David Arquette, “hopefully Wes Craven is going to direct.”  Williamson has claimed that Neve Campbell has declined the chance to revive her role — because she’s busy with somany other projects — but Arquette said “I hope Neve does it. I really hope so.”

Really, much more surprising than the announcement of this newest sequel is the fact that I think this picture depicts the most normal ensemble I’ve ever seen David Arquette wear.  Ever.

Kelly Clarkson appeared on Late Show with David Letterman last night wearing dark denim flare leg jeans, a floral tunic and horizontal stripe cardigan.  Thoughts?

Do we just love Clarkson for her “I don’t care” attitude or would it be nice to see her in some garment, any garment, with structure?

Debbie Rowe’s lawyers are in a tither over that New York Post article I talked about this morning regarding how Debbie Rowe was getting another $4M bucks to sign over her parental rights to Katherine Jackson.  According to Rowe’s attorney, Eric George, the claims are “completely false.”  They have asked NYP for a full retraction.

While we’re pondering that,  Rebecca, a supposed “close friend” of Debbie’s ran to Extra and shared private emails sent between the two.  Check these out:

July 2nd

“I’m not going after custody,” Debbie writes to Rebecca. “These kids are not mine. They were never mine. They were always Michael’s. I was Michael’s best friend.”

July 5th

“My lawyer is telling me I have to take some responsibility about the welfare of the children,” Rowe writes. “Do I want the kids? Hell no. Does it look good for me to ask for them? Absolutely. I don’t want to look like the woman who gave away her kids and just forgot about them. Would Michael want Joe to have them? I think it would be the last thing that he would ever have wanted.”

In addition, Rebecca told Extra, “The motivation is money,.  I really have to be honest… If the children aren’t the ones she wants, what else will she gain from it?”

Todd Holland is a three-time Emmy award winning director (The Larry Sanders Show and Malcolm in the Middle) who has built a successful Hollywood career over the past 25 years.  However, despite his professional accomplishments, Holland had some advice for young gay actors when he spoke at L.A.’s Outfest this weekend.  The director particpated as part of a discussion panel titled, “Taking It to the Streets: LGBT Directors Get Political.”

Holland, who was talking as one of the featured panelists, and who once worked as a director on the critically acclaimed HBO sit-com The Larry Sanders Show, explained that it’s a necessary career choice if a gay actor wants to succeed in Hollywood.

Fellow panelist and filmmaker Kirby Dick, director of Outrage, a 2009 documentary about gay politicians who stay in the closet to further their political careers, told Holland: “I know where you’re coming from, but it’s a regressive argument.”

Holland, who was legally married before Proposition 8 was passed by California voters in November, responded that he was just being realistic, but Dick, who is heterosexual, believed that if “an A-list actor came out, it would have more impact on the culture than an A-list politician.”

I’m not gay and I don’t pretend to speak for a community of which I’m not a member.  But from the outside looking in, isn’t this sort of dissension the exact thing that will thwart the advancement of accepting everyone in the, uh, human being community?
