Happy Father’s Day! I’d like to thank dads everywhere for telling corny jokes, yelling at the television when something they don’t agree with comes on Fox News, and falling asleep in the living room chair.

Beet’s Update: It’s not actually Father’s Day in the U.S. yet, so don’t panic. The photo agency was just jumping the gun by posting all these photos. Well, they want ’em up early so the magazines can buy them in time for their issues on Father’s Day. Which is next week. So you’re all fine.

After reading this post, I initially FREAKED OUT before I checked the calendar. Now that I’m calm and collected, I think the post (and the collective freak out it caused) is rather hilarious–it’s very Andy-Kaufman-and-the-fake-screen-static if it was intentional.

Okay so, she made a mistake. How about….. YOU CHECK THE DATE YOURSELF, lazy hating wenches! And for all of you who almost had little panic attacks.. Well, I did too. But then I checked a calendar, which is conveniently located in the corner of my computer screen, a single click away – just like everyone else’s – and I stopped freaking out. All sans mean comments. Wow. I felt terrible for one split second until I saw how many comments were on this post and knew I had the day right all along.
I talked to my dad for an hour on the phone today – I would have felt like total shit if I had the day wrong and didn’t wish him a happy father’s day. PHEW!
Totally just texted my dad in the other room at 2am after spending the whole day with him: “I’m SO SORRY, I feel like an idiot, and you were so nice all day!!! I can’t believe I forgot!”

As someone said before: it really was Father’s Day in Belgium :D! For a moment, I was very surprised the USA celebrated it on the same day as we do, because almost the entire world celebrates Father’s Day on the 3th sunday of June.
But hey, give her a break, everyone can make a mistake.

i used to enjoy this site. now it just makes me … sad. this is a stupid mistake, but it’s not the first. and it’s easy to roll your eyes and say, well at least we have a lot of comments, bright side, right?
