38Brandy Pays Settlement To Victim’s Family

56584970brandy62200915009pm-1

TMZ reports that Brandy has paid out a settlement to the two children of Awatef Aboudihaj, the woman who died when the singer plowed into the back of her car in 2006.  They will each receive $300,000 a piece, however the victim’s husband, Marouane Hdidou, has rejected the $600,000 portion of the offer that was made to compensate him for his loss.

I wish the Hdidou realized that $600,000 won’t bring back his wife but neither will $6M.  May he find peace, accept an offer and a way to move forward.

I don’t think I’d accept that offer either. He should make her pay!

  2. Priscilla says:

excuse me! $600, 000, would that bitch brandy “settle”for 600gs if someone plowed into her mother? FUCK NO, i ask brandy this, how much would YOU settle for? and i want 10xs that!

How do you know if she (Brandy) would even file a lawsuit if her mother was killed in one?
People today file suits for greed, not the loss of their relative!! Notice how they take the time to figure out a price? Lets see, lawyer fees, $1mil, my new car and house, $2mil, new clothes to show off to the Joneses, $1mil, and oh, don’t forget the kid, what ever is left over!!! Give me abreak here, MONEY does not solve the problem, because when that money is gone, the person will still be dead! And keep this in mind, IT COULD HAPPEN TO YOU!!!

    • Sharon says:

I think the main focus of this settlement is not so much the loss of their mother….it has the distinct smell of GREED. Brandy is a person just like we are, who is not perfect and therefore will make mistakes in her life. How many of you on this post has ever been in a car accident that YOU caused? If the answer is yes, then how would you feel if during the course of this accident someone died? I’m sure most of us would be miserable and would therefore have to live with this pain for the rest of our lives. However, I don’t think that just because Brandy is a celebrity the rules should be different. If she was the average person, this family would have settled this with their insurance company and moved on with their lives. We hear about car accidents and death everyday. However, because this family feels that they can get some extra money or get rich quick….they are ‘milking’ the system and in my opinion it is downright shameful. It’s a shame what the effect money has on people. It makes them rob, kill, steal….and even drag people through court for nonsense.

      • JONI says:

YOU ARE ABSOLUTE RIGHT, IN TODAY;S LIFE WE DO NOT GRIEVE FOR OUR LOVES ONES BUT WHAT WE CAN GET AFTER THEY DIED. wHAT WOULD JESUS DO IF HE WAS HERE TODAY FORGIVE ONE ANOTHER AS CHRIST HAS FORGIVEN US

      • bubbles says:

I think the husband should be more worried about raising his children than the money. After all they lost their mother. And like the person above said what Jesus would do is forgive. Maybe the world would be a better place for all of us if we were more understanding and forgiving. Then we would also set a better example to our children. Fighting and sueing are not always the answer!!!!!

    • J says:

Priscilla is such a pretty name and your picture, if that’s you, is attractive, but the language!!!

  3. spazhatchet says:

poor poor Brandy…………look at how her eyelash is peeling off!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. DarkEmpress says:

No that is not nearly enough money. its actually pretty insulting, however, she may be broke. She hasnt had anything going on for a hot minute now.

    • Rodney says:

      DarkEmpress,

Obvious that you, like many others don’t know about entertainment. As long as re-runs of Moesha run in syndication and Brandy songs play on the radio, she is still making money. Check the BMI and ASCAP policies, and the Actors Union. You are about as lost as the media, saying that Michael Jackson is broke, ( and he bought a 2.5 milion dollar mansion up in Martha’s Vinyard ?) Go figure.

  5. Anonymous says:

I thought they decided that brandy actually was NOT at fault??

    • Hautie says:

I thought it was decided that there was a person in another car, in front of the lady that died, was at fault. The chain reaction of the car crashes was started by that person.

But lets be honest this has always been about cash.

If it had been a no name person who had hit the back of her car instead of Brandy … none of this
would be dragged out. The insurance company would have made a pay out and be done with it.

But greed always takes over and here we are. Best part of it is, the lawyers are the only ones walking away with large part of the settlement… after this long of a period.

So for the years that this has been dragged out, the lawyers are making a small fortune. I hope they send a “thank you” note to the husband who has dragged it out.

So every time you hear someone harp about the cost of auto insurance… this is why. It was an accident… that should have already been paid out.

Yes, even wealthy people have accidents and I have yet to understand why they aren’t allowed to. That they must pay more than anyone else for it.

      • Anonymous says:

I agree with you Hautie, people are pointing fingers at Brandy, but it WAS a chain reaction! They need to read the entire story instead of pointing crooked fingers!! I can bet you this, if it was “any one of them” that hit the ack of this woman’s car, they would be shaking in ther boots with nothing to say!

What kills me with people and their lawsuits is the amount!!! I wonder who decided that $6mil was the right amount. Did the usband decide $1mil for one arm, then $1mil for the other, etc. Give me a break, the husband is probably concentrating more on how he’s going to spend the money, he probably forgot all about his wife my now!

  6. Anonymous says:

if her eyes where any further apart she would technically be of another species.
I really see so point to this chicks existance except for maybe having something to make fun of….like the eyes, lack of talent, gross brother, ect.

    • Rodney says:

      Anonymous,

Loved your last record . Did it go gold like the 3 before it ? And I loved you on your television show, “MY LIFE AS ANONYMOUS.” The point ? Achieve something as such before you knock someone else’s GOD GIVEN TALENTS .

  7. Jinxy says:

Let’s be honest here, she was driving a range rover, going to fast for conditions and Brandy was on the phone with no ear piece. Clearly you have to be in control of your vehicle on the road – that’s every drivers responsibility because autos are often deadly in the wrong hands, this time it was hers.

His wife died and several others were seriously hurt. There is no money that will bring her back but he lost the person he loved, I would be devastated too. She’s going to have a large portion of whatever settlement covered by insurance but I do hope it makes people stop and think about the fact that your car isn’t the place for doing makeup, or eating, or texting or talking on the phone – you can kill someone very easily and they were just minding their business. I don’t think this is greed this is about making someone who was stupid and caused loss of life to feel some real pain. She should, it was her fault those kids don’t have a mother.

  8. wurly says:

Am I the only one here who can’t seem to take my eyes of that horrible picture?

  9. JACKI says:

Poeple need to stop! She was found innocentand the death of this woman coul not be avoided, it was an ACCIDENT! I wonder how much of that money those kids will see, and I won’t be surprised if the relatives spend all of the money. They may not even be citizens of this country!

Be careful who you point fingers at, because YOU could cause an accident too, even if you could not avoid it!!!

  10. Nehia says:

I feel sad for the accident’s families and thier loss.
You who have made comments about her looks and family are obnoxious. This is the not the place or the time to discuss how she looks. At the end of the day, she is a human being just like everyone else. She has feelings and a heart. I am certain this is not something she would even wish upon you. She has this burden to deal with for you rest of her life, while you have it as a topic to discuss for this minute. Give her a break please!

  11. nic says:

Although we all are entitled to our opinion, some opinions should be kepted to yourselves. I think everyone is forgetting that this was an accident and it could happen to anyone no matter what your status is in life. We tend to try to put people that are artist, actors etc.. in a different category just because of what they have, but at the end of the day when they look in the mirror they are still human beings just like us. Instead of putting people down put yourself in that persons shoes and I bet you won’t like some of the comments people would say about you. This family suffered a great loss, no amount of money on this earth can replace a life. Both the family and Brandy is going to have to deal with this for the rest of there lives.

  12. Sharon says:

This was a tragic accident, and no one can deny it. I agree with Hautie’s post above…because Brandy is a celebrity the family is being GREEDY. Right now it has nothing to do with GRIEF and loss of a loved one. Right now the issue at hand is how much money they can get from Brandy. People are involved in accidents everyday, and if this was some regular joe this case would have been solved through an insurance settlement and this family would have moved on by now. “Money is the root of all injurious things!!” I think it’s shameful that a family would even drag this through the court system. Now, I’m not saying that you don’t fight for your family because they did lose a loved one. I’m not sure how I would feel in this situation, but I do know that the only reason this family is asking for so much money is because they feel they can get it. If they knew it was no way to get this money, like say from an average person they wouldn’t even go through the chirades.

  13. hotmilfchocolate says:

let’s discuss the REAL tragedy here:

wtf is up with brandi’s bloodshot alien eyes and her fake eyelashes?

the one on the left is literally coming off her lid. oops!

    tragic photo.

    jussayin.

  14. Cynthia says:

I think Brandy’s lawyers are low balling like all lawyers do. They are trying to start low to go high, I do think however that you can not put a price on a life.. Especially that of a mother because of the bond a mother and child have at infancy to sometimes adulthood. I hate to say this but, those children deserve more and just because Brandy is and was a big start at one time doesn’t give her the right to snuff somebodys life out as she did accdident or not she should be willing to pay that family what ever it is that thier asking for. It’s funny that I didn’t even hear of this until today.. (Suprising!)

  15. Melissa says:

Wither it be $6.00 or $6 million… no money in the world will bring there mom back and if this pitiful excuse for a human being, yes speaking about the father, needs $6 million to feel better about himself is disgusting. It only goes to show his children that every thing is about money. I’m damn sure he’ll take that $6 mill and forget about his departed wife and end up marrying some model. It’s a sad ending to a tragic beginning. Money doesn’t bring happiness and I think he should take the money, put it away for the kids and let his kids know that life will go on. Sad… sad…. If this was an average Joe, the money would be much less and nobody would be bloging about it. In 2007 a family was struck by a semi and the families 3 children were killed. The truck driver was fined I belive $10 – 20 thousand but I wanna say much less. Only those who heard about there amazing aftermath knows about it. Again, THREE CHILDREN LOST YOU DONT HERE THE PARENTS SCREAMING FOR MILLIONS! Sad.. Sad

  16. Claire says:

Look, even if she was found innocent in a criminal court that doesn’t mean she can’t be sued in a civil court like OJ. If she wasn’t paying attention behind the wheel and a mother died, why shouldn’t she pay big bucks if she has big bucks? If the settlement is to be a deterrent, it has to be high enough to “hurt” a bit. I mean if Brandie really even cared she’d be doing PSAs or soehow making amends for what she did.

If the husband doesn’t want people thinking he’s a gold digger though, he should have hired a PR company and set up a future charitable organization aimed at helping orphans or victims of stupid drivers…

  17. CHAKA says:

SHE LOOKS SOOOOOOOOOO STONED AND INCREDIBLY EFFED UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  18. gb2069 says:

I hope she gets taken for everything she’s got!! She deserves no pity at all whatsoever. She took someones life!!

  19. PLEASE says:

EVEN THOUGH NO AMOUNT OF MONEY WILL BRING THE MOTHER BACK, I THINK THAT BRANDY SHOULD HAVE GONE TO JAIL FOR WRECKLESS DRIVING, ESPECIALLY IF SHE REALLY WAS THE CAUSE OF THE ACCIDENT BY BEING CARELESS. IF IT WERE HER FAT DAUGHTER SHE WOULD WANT THE PERSON THAT CAUSED THE ACCIDENT TO BE PUNISHED EVEN THOUGH IT WOULD NOT BRING HER BACK. THAT $600,000.00 SHE COULD KEEP THAT S….!!!!!. SHE MUST ALSO REMEMBER THAT YOU REAP WHAT U HAVE SOWEN. MY DAUGHTERS FATHER KILLED SOMEONE AT A NIGHT CLUB 15 YEARS AGO, AND LAST YEAR SOMEONE KILLED HIM AND HIS GIRLFRIEND, ON HIS WAY TO HIS SISTERS HOUSE AND HE WAS NOT A PERSON OF THE STREET ANYMORE, THATS CALLED REAPING.

  20. b96 says:

This was and is a sad situation. People were seriously hurt and someone was killed. Instead of making fun of a not so flattering picture, calling names, and insulting,we should be praying for the everyone involved and all of their loved ones.
