“What they didn’t get is that I didn’t want to fight with her anymore. It’s hard to look at somebody who used to be your best friend and say, ‘We can’t be friends. Too much has happened.’ I’m trying to move on, but they won’t let me. And when someone keeps pushing you into the same position well … you get upset.”

That’s Lauren Conrad, in the July issue of Cosmopolitan, discussing how The Hills producers pressured her to make up with ex-BFF Heidi Montag. Lauren has since quit her gig on the show. “I’ve always had another season to look forward to, but now life is a little more unplanned,” she says. “It’s really exciting.”

She’s all settled in with her real-life boyfriend, Kyle Howard. “I feel sexiest with him when I’m in sweatpants and no make-up,” she says.

Ya know what? I want to give big, big props to Lauren. She’s really done what every celebrity talks about doing but never actually does: She walked away from it all. I mean, granted, she’s still on the cover of Cosmo, but she really, truly stood up and said “I don’t want the cameras following me any more. I’m over it. I’m leaving.” That’s a hard thing to do, to walk away from the spotlight, to ask to live a life just like anyone else’s, especially when your arch-enemies — people like Heidi & Spencer and Kristin Cavallari — are happy to step into the spot you left behind. What Lauren did took a lot of strength and courage. I just think she deserves to be commended on that.

The Gosselins’ business is everyone’s business. Kate’s brother Kevin and his wife, Jodi — who appeared on earlier seasons of the show before Kate kicked them off — showed up at CBS this morning to talk about how horrible the reality show is for the little Gosselin kiddos, and how Jon & Kate don’t care a lick for the safety of their children. (The clip of them starts at 1:25.) They feel they need to “speak out” to “protect” the kids.

Whatever. I smell bitter people looking to recapture the spotlight. These kids are just fine. Does it suck that their parents are getting divorced? Yes. Is it maybe kind of annoying to have the cameras around all the time? Yes. But are the kids fine? Are they fed and clothed and educated and hugged and safe? Yes, yes, yes. Are they waaaaay better off than a whole lot of kids in this country who have no adults who care about them rather than two loving parents, a staff of nannies and an entire film crew looking out for them at all times? Yes. The kids are fine. Shut up, Kevin and Jodi.

Ummmm, what can I say? It’s a song by Kanye West, but it’s four full minutes of Rihanna. She’s not doing anything particularly interesting, either.

I officially don’t get it.

Actually, though it’s true that Scarlett Johansson is singing again, her music doesn’t seem to sound so bad this time around.  To be warned though, when I say “doesn’t sound so bad” that just means that I’m not getting any new pins for my ScarJo voodoo doll.  It’s stillScarlett Johansson, after all.

Johansson paired up with singer-songwriter Pete Yorn who is best known for writing a bunch of music and scores for television shows and movies.  The CD “Break Up” drops September 8th, but the single “Relator” is available for a listen here.  What do you think?  She’s totally going for a Frenetically Happy Amy Winehouse vibe (as if there was such a thing), no?

No, Britney doesn’t really have a new fragrance named ‘Mo hitting the shelves, though wouldn’t it be wonderful if she did?

Instead, she did a spoof fragrance ad to help advertise Logo Network’s New Now Next Awards which are airing on June 13th.

When I saw this clip, it got me to researching perfume names.  Did you know that there is a scent called “Fluid Iceberg” on the market?  I’m just saying…

Wow.  I wasn’t very nice to Melissa Joan Hart, better known as everyone’s favorite teenage witch, but boy did she show me.  Sorry, Melissa.

Hart is on this week’s cover of People showing off her 42 pound weight loss .  And the best part?  She doesn’t look like she did heroin to get thin.  She looks healthy and, dare I say, not Photoshopped?

Tori Spelling, are you paying attention?
