Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson won! The seventeen-year-old beat out actor Gilles Marini by a less than one percent difference in scoring after The Bachelorette’s Melissa Rycroft was eliminated earlier in the evening.
Basically, if you’re an Olympiad and you’re on Dancing With The Stars, you’re going to win — Johnson is the third Olympiad to win out of the past eight seasons. I was reading some forums where a lot of rabid fans people felt she didn’t deserve to win. I wanted Melissa Rycroft to win, but only because she was dumped on national television. I feel that warrants a mirror ball trophy.

I am sad that I had to work and missed it!
I was rooting for her the whole time. I really though Shawn and Mark were the cutest couple. I like Melissa, but I really think she got a free pass the week she was injured, and the team dance carried her through. Just didn’t seem fair. Oh well, I’m her sucess from this has exacted some kind of revenge on the Bachelor dude.
Anyway… CONGRATS SHAWN!!
Wow, they’re really keeping that mirror ball trophy in the Ballas- Hough family aren’t they? That’s 5 consecutive season’s that Julianne, Derek or Mark have had the trophy!

I’m so thrilled that Shawn won! I actually hated Melissa this whole season. She didn’t get dumped on national TV. She got dumped before that was ever taped. Seriously, she went on TV to get a husband, so I feel no sorrow for her.
Shawn really grew up within the past few months from being on that show.

I right down despise shawny girl, I felt she was entirely to freakin young and I think it should be age appropriate, she could not endure the lady quality’s for being so baby fat (chunky). And as far as Melissa she is beaufitful, and yes she did get dumped on tv. not before, she was absulutly lied bare face lied to, by Jason, thats when he said molly was the reason remember?? He kept saying that it wasnot Molly, until national TV. she deserved that trophy

This show is my one of my few guilty pleasures and this season I was happy to see all three contestants make it as far as they did. All three were great dancers. I voted for Melissa but was still happy to see Shawn take it.
What I don’t understand is how people get so riled up about this crap. It’s just TV. Who wins or does not win, will in no way affect our daily lives or the world around us. I promise.
