Hugh Jackman was seen on the streets of New York yesterday walking his son Oscar Maximillian to school while accompanied by daughter Ava Eliot.

Firstly, it’s great to see a dad — any dad — involved with the every day activities of his kids.  Awesome.

And you know that I won’t ever make fun of celeb children here at Evil Beet, though I do reserve the right to make fun of my own children, but jade green skinny jeans and a matching striped tunic on a nine-year-old?  Wow.  Tween fashion is changing.

This is gonna make me totally sound like a womens power freak, but i think its kind of annoying when people praise men who do the things the should do. In my opinion, hes a father, hes involved in his kids every day lives, no need to say anything about it becuase that is what he is SUPPOSED to do, he doesnt get any extra credit. No one ever says about a woman, “Its so great to see a mother involved in her childs everyday lives”. Its kinda like when wives say their husbands are babysitting, its not babysitting if its their own children.

    Whew…got that out, carry on.

Chris Rock has a routine where some guy says “Well at least I take care of my kids”… to which Rock replied ” you’re supposed to”…

My thing is, what the hell is that kid wearing and why can’t they just say Oscar and Ava, unless they have 2 first names.

Agreed! You are a parent, so it is your responsibility to do every day parent activities no matter your gender.

This Dad couldn’t agree with you more yeayea. Well said!

As a Dad, I agree 100%. There is no special reward for doing my duty. I don’t “babysit” — I take care of my kids.

Kind of sad that society has dumbed down the expectation of fathers.

As for the clothes — I am not sure I understand the issue. That looks exactly like something my 6-year-old daughter would pick out. Opps, there it is!

I don’t get the clothing comment. He looks appropriately dressed for a nine-year-old. What’s the problem?

  7. Kristen says:

That’s a he? His kids both look like girls to me. Guess that’s what’s wrong with the outfit. It’s very appropriate for a 9 year old, if that 9 year old is female.

It’s really reminds me of the outfits I wore to elementary school in the eighties. Really unfortunate.

Is everyone making typos today? Don’t you mean he’s out with his two daughters?

That’s a boy? The daughter is adorable though
