In lieu of his favored email denials, Jon Gosselin has granted an interview to Entertainment Weekly to address the recent and now confirmed rumors that he is a cheater. And in a move that certainly struck terror in my heart, his wife Kate also spoke.
EW: What did you think of the story and photo?
Jon: It’s really upsetting. I may be guilty of choosing the wrong time and place to hang out with my friends, but I am not guilty of cheating on my wife. It hurts me to see what it’s done to my family, and it’s scary to know that these tabloids are in town constantly following us and even paying locals large amounts of money to contribute to these negative stories. It’s even gotten so bad that [one tabloid] has reached out to a youth pastor from our church, which in my eyes is completely unacceptable.
Kate: It’s disturbing and unfortunate that these tabloids have gone as far as they have to try and bring us down. Jon’s poor judgment and irresponsible behavior has also without a doubt caused some added tension and stress between the two of us.EW: Does the tabloid story make you want to spend even less time in public? Do you feel like you have to decline future requests for fan photos for fear they may end up in the wrong hands?
Jon: Our fans and the majority of viewers have been overwhelmingly supportive, but when tabloids take photos and turn them into something they are not, yes it definitely makes us hesitant to take photos with fans and go about our daily lives. We still want to live normal lives. We want our kids to have opportunities that we didn’t have growing up, which is why we participated in the show in the first place. But of course it makes us think twice about how we spend our time in public.EW: Will you address how the tabloid coverage has affected your life in the upcoming season on Jon and Kate, which begins May 25?
Kate: I think we will address the bigger picture, regarding the very public focus on our family and the stress it’s caused in our relationship, but not necessarily any specific tabloid.EW: That said, the latest tabloid coverage should only boost ratings for the fifth season of your show. Is this comforting, or troubling?
Kate: We are not concerned about the ratings right now. Our main focus is on our family and working through this.
Listen, it totally sucks to face personal trials in the public spotlight. Kate may be a scary bitch, but even she doesn’t deserve this sort of public humiliation. I hope these two can get it together. Other high-profile marriages have survived infidelity in the past. Look at Halle Berry and Eric Benet or Alex and Cynthia Rodriguez…oh…bad examples. Um…uh…Frank and Kathie Lee Gifford-there you go!-they survived and Jon and Kate can too.
UPDATE: People is now reporting that Deanna Hummel, the gal who took Jon Gosselin’s uh…car for a test drive, continues to deny involvement despite her brother’s claims. “My brother is making this all up. He has no credibility … I can’t even stomach the lies he’s saying about me. My brother is very shady. He has no job. He has a criminal background. He was charged for drug distribution. He’s on probation right now.”“

This only leads me to believe that he admitted to her he was cheating.
How? If there are cheating rumours no matter what, they add tension between a couple, even if they’re false. Just read Othello. Be glad Kate hasn’t strangled Jon yet.

We all pounced on that poor judgement and irresponsible behavior line. It sounds so authoritative-like the high school principal or a judge, or your mom. Even in this, she comes off like a bitch, castrating him in public for what he did. Kind of like Kathie Lee Gifford cutting off Frank’s balls on television every chance she gets, to this day. Consider Jon neutered. She can’t just ask for privacy during this time, or be silent. She has to take the opportunity to show what a dumbass he is in every situation. Kate is always right.

Okay, maybe. But she had no problem throwing him under the proverbial bus. How was she trying to help him by throwing his past out there for all to see?
OK I don’t feel bad for Jon and Kate whatsoever. The kids yeah, but definitely not these two. They CHOSE to exploit and make money off the backs of their children by allowing cameras to follow every bowel movement, tantrum, and change of outfit. They chose to keep doing this show season after season even when it was obvious that it was causing more harm to their isolated children then good. They knew that being in the public eye is all part of the deal when you want to get freebies, vacations, and spa dates so badly that you neglect the fact that your daughters are practically begging for the cameras to leave them alone. So no one should feel bad that these two clowns have become tabloid fodder. Karma exists and here is a prime example. You can’t get away with doing this kind of crap to your kids, being a horrible greedy shrew of a woman who acts so entitled, and not expect some kind of consequences. I think the universe has given dear Kate many hints to stop the circus and she has ignored them. So maybe she literally needs to be pushed back into privacy and allow her kids to have a normal life. She has admitted that she loves her lifestyle now, and once you are addicted to that (just like crack) it comes before your kids. I don’t blame Jon in the least bit for cheating on her. He probably wanted to feel slightly like a man and a human being, if only for a little while. I do feel bad for the kids, but there is a very simple solution….Don’t come back for anymore seasons, wait for this gossip to die out (which will happen if you don’t feed the fire) and live in peace for ONCE in these children’s lives. Family before freebies.

I was thinking the same thing; if they don’t want the tabloids printing stories about them, they should stop being in the public eye, i.s. stop making the t.v. show.
I do blame Jon, whether he actually cheated or not, because a good father puts his children’s well being before his social life. Yeah, he deserves to go out and have fun, but he should remember he’s famous and not do things in public that would embarrass his kids.

The tabloids ARE around town. It is quite annoying when heading there..so I avoid passing through at all costs and try to find different routes… but hell there was a ‘reporter’ at the mall, where Mady got her ears pierced, asking for the people at the kiosk to detail their interaction. I was RIGHT there coming out of the Hallmark store.
