Joel Madden Goes Blonde

joel madden blonde hair

Let me confess right up front that I am a brunette who dyes her hair blonde. Personally, I think that there is something about hot brunettes that makes them so much hotter than hot blondes. But I just can’t pull that whole “sultry” thing off, so I dye my hair.

Lately, there have been far too many attractive dark- haired celebrities going crazy with the peroxide bottle. The latest casualty? Good Charlotte singer and Nicole Ritchie Baby Bump-maker Joel Madden.

This look gets a big thumbs down from me. I think it looks orange and fake, and really washes out his face. But what do you think?

  • well he’s a “punk” rocker so if he’s going to retain ANY of his “authenticity” it has to look fakey, like he did it himself with peroxide or Sun In. it can’t look like he spent hours in a salon chair. the hair doesn’t bother me as much as the tattoo sleeves. so ugly.

  • I think the correct spelling of the word is “blond”, except for “hot blondes”. If I remember correctly, “blonde” is used only as a noun, and for some reason only for females. As in, you are a bottle blonde because you dye your hair blond. Sorry to be so picky – the only reason I said anything is because your grammar is usually impeccable!

      • ome writers of English may continue to distinguish between the masculine blond and the feminine blonde and, as such, it is one of the few adjectives in English with separate masculine and feminine forms. However, many writers use only one of the spellings without regard to gender, and without a clear majority usage one way or another. The word, especially the feminine blonde form, is also often used as a noun to refer to a woman with blonde hair, but American Heritage’s Book of English Usage propounds that this particular employment of the term is an example of a “sexist stereotype: that women are primarily defined by their physical characteristics”.

Weird, I was always taught that blond is the same for both sexes and blonde is what they use in international English. Firefox is telling me blonde is spelled incorrectly but blond is not, and my Firefox uses American English!

        Confusing…

      • Funny because I live in American and over in the north east it has always been blonde, Strange because if you spell it blond people will tell you you are wrong.

  • “Lately, there have been far too many attractive dark- haired celebrities going crazy with the peroxide bottle”.
Where is the attractive man here? I can’t see him…
