Same here! Yeah 603!!! I am so happy it passed. I really hope it gets approved by our Gov. This makes me so proud especially being a Cali college student right now having gone through Prop 8.
Hey Beet. Why don’t you bash the president you love so dearly? His exact quote…..
“I’m a Christian. And so, although I try not to have my religious beliefs dominate or determine my political views on this issue, I do believe that tradition, and my religious beliefs say that marriage is something sanctified between a man and a woman.”
He also said in 1996 (or 2, I forget) that he supports equal rights for same-sex couples. Obama is very inclusive to the LGBT movement, more so than any other president, and I’m hoping he waits until he is reelected in 2012 to do anything with same-sex couples. Simply because the right-wing is great at using fear as a weapon.
he has also stated that he thinks it should be left up to the states to decide. so…. I guess he’d be okay with this.

it doesnt matter what he personally thinks. hes doing the right thing in letting people decide for themselves. hes not lettin ghis personal bias get in the way of peoples rights…now THATS a good president!

So proud to be living in New Hampshire–where history is being made in terms of same sex marriage and medicinal marijuana. I’ve taken a lot of heat over the years for being from a hick state … but really, I think we’re the wisest : ) : ) : )
I just got the chills. This year is turning out to be awfully amazing when it comes to gay rights. Even though I am still irritated with prop 8, these other states are strengthening my hope.

Well done New Hampshire! I am really impressed with the progress state by state. And I agree more countries should join US, UK, NL, ES, CA (etc etc). Like Australia for example, come on Aussie let’s get some equal rights happening here too.

This is the way it *should* be done – the legislative branch is in charge of making laws.
Encouraging this sort of behavior is a lot more likely to get the right-leaning centrists behind you – many of them are opposed to legislating from the bench.
