Family Leaves Redmond O’Neal to Rot in Jail

redmond_oneal240

Young Redmond O’Neal — the son of Farrah Fawcett and Ryan O’Neal — is still cooling his heels in Twin Towers because no one will bail him out. And apparently no one will visit him, either. He’s been there for a week and he hasn’t had a single visitor. His family is making it a point not to visit him. They want him to learn a lesson.

And believe it or not, he’s not even in jail for his recent attempt to bring heroin into a prison. He’s there for probation violation, stemming from a dirty test when he was in rehab for an entirely different drug arrest.

With Farrah struggling to beat anal cancer right now, I completely understand this family’s decision to leave Redmond in jail. He’s safer in there! The last thing the O’Neals need to add to their list of stresses is a dead son, and it’s way harder to OD on heroin in Twin Towers than on the streets of LA. Good parenting decision, Ryan! Much better than when you decided to do meth with your son. Oh, shit. I just had a thought. Maybe Ryan is leaving Redmond in jail because he’s sick of the kid bogarting the meth.

  • Well said, Evil Beet. Tatum O’Neil and her brother have had horrible battles with drugs even before Redmond was born. It all evolved organically, and perhaps Ryan can embrace the whole fam if he wants to keep it real.

  • Yeah anal cancer. Isn’t that like the worst name for cancer-worse than testicular cancer even. They don’t call leukemia blood cancer-couldn’t they come up with a better term? Geez they have guys that sit around in think tanks coming up with names like ED-erectile dysfunction for not being able to get a stiffie. Find something better for anal cancer.

    • agreed. How embarrassing to have to tell everyone you have anal cancer? They should totally rename it.

I once, unfortunately, had to have surgery in that area. I told everyone I had surgery on my colon. close enough, right?

      • gawd. it was like an anal fissure or something… aka tear near my asshole. yeah, I said it.

It’s HORRIBLE. and it sucked too because I couldn’t even use it for pity. I would have to talk about my butt…. it’s kind of funny now, but it SO WAS NOT at the time.

and no I didn’t tear it during naughty sex or anything nearly as cool.

      • I read that anal cancer is caused by the human papilova virus that also causes cervical cancer. It’s supposed to be very common among gay men.

      • I too believe that you don’t die of anal cancer. You die of shame from having anal cancer. I’ve also had surgery in that area and told people I had back surgery. It helped explain the little doughnut thing I had to sit on.

I used to be terrified of having a stroke and being in a nursing home, nuclear war, and radiation from my cell phone. Now I just worry about anal cancer.

      • Fistula — I had mine when I was 6. And guess what??? That’s supposedly a risk factor for anal cancer. Oh great. :(

  • Oh, yeah. Introduce your kids to your destructive addictions, then when they get in trouble for drugs abandon them to their fate. Way to be awesome parents.

How could this kid possibly “learn a lesson” by a brief visit to jail after a lifetime of learning dangerous and irresponsible behavior modeled by his parents? It is very sad all around.

    • Exactly.

He comes from a family of drugs, clearly has a problem he is not able to control and his mother is struggling for her life. Why not get him some help? Jail rarely cures addictions.

      • I agree that this guy needs treatment, probably needs to be removed from his father forever. (From what one can gather with his own issues, as well as his very capable ability to rear children addicts). Redmond is not ready for rehab though, as evidence by the many failed attempts, kicked out of rehabs, and more arrests. He has to WANT to get better, which clearly he does not.

Prison (Jail) was not designed to rehabilitate or treat people, it serves as a place for punishment. This guy flaunts his drug problems all over the place, has been caught bringing in drugs to jail, and he continues his downward spiral. He needs to be punished. Maybe after facing a few consequences for his actions he will desire what rehab can offer.

    • My name is Rocket and I am a responder…..I am a 60tweener and Purile is not any fun at all…..buzz kill….party pooper..etc.

  • I know that this is a shallow, horrible comment, and I shouldn’t even post it. But something has been bugging me since Beet posted another picture of Redmond a week or two ago. Isn’t he relatively unattractive given that he is the offspring of two relatively attractive people. I know — I’m awful.

  • Re: “They want him to learn a lesson.” What’s the lesson? To not have a an a-hole for a father?
