Congrats to funny lady Wanda Sykes, who is finalizing a deal with Fox for a Saturday late-night show.
The hourlong show, slated to premiere in the fall, will succeed the recently canceled sketch comedy show “MadTV.” It will be topical, featuring a panel of recurring guests sparring over issues concerning politics as well as pop culture. Sykes will appear in field segments as well.
Thank goodness! Late night television NEEDS more women, not more Jimmy Kimmels. I ::heart:: Wanda Sykes, and I’m so excited for this!!

Jimmy Kimmel is actually funny though. I’d say late night TV needs less Jay Lenos. Christ, that guy is horrible.
I guess I’d rather watch Wanda Sykes over that hack Chelsea Handler, though. I used to wonder how in the fuck such an unfunny comedian kept that crappy show for this long… then I found out she’s screwing the VP of. E! It all makes perfect sense now.
She’s basically Dane Cook with a wig. Neither possess any real talent but they have a bunch of female fans that don’t really require their favorite comedians to actually be funny.
What? You’re crazy. Chelsea Handler is hilarious. Definitely more than you give her credit for. She’s definitely nothing like Dane Cook.
I have met Wanda a few times and I swear she deserves this!
She works hard, shes always gracious, and a real pleasure to be around.
