All in all, this is easily the strongest, most charismatic group of Idol finalists I’ve ever seen. Hands down.
My heart belongs to Alison Iraheta and Adam Lambert, who I think are both just so naturally brilliant on stage. And I love that Alison played at least a little bit of the guitar. It’s frustrating to me to see all these men parading out on the stage and commanding an instrument while the women stay behind the mic. I feel like it furthers the perception that men are competent musicians, while women are just a pretty face with a pretty voice and a microphone. (This is true of Megan Joy Buttcork, but it’s not a general rule in the world.) If these girls can play instruments, I wanna see it! I’m impressed Alison had the balls to do that at such a young age. She’s a big career waiting to happen if she can land the right managers.
Kris Whatsisname grew on me tonight. Not enough to remember his last name, but still. I liked him. And Justin Timberlake 2.0 did fantastic, I thought, no matter what the judges said.
I honestly forgot Anoop had performed. At the end of the show I was like, “Wait! They didn’t do Anoop!” I had to rewind to see his performance and remember what he’d sang. He was that forgettable. Lil Rounds is gorgeous and talented and has great stage presence. Her shtick just bores me, though. That’s more an issue of my taste. I don’t think she’s doing anything wrong. I just never get excited when she comes on. Danny Gokey, too. He’s fantastic. He just doesn’t do anything for me. I was never into Chris Daughtrey, and it’s a similar style. I feel like there are a thousand dudes in Hollywood who can do that schtick every bit as well.
So who do you guys think is going home tomorrow?
I think it’s Megan Joy Buttcork. I hope it is. My guess is that the bottom three will be Scott, Megan and Anoop, and Megan will go.
Megan was the worst; but think she will stay due to fan support as well as the “anti-idol” vote… she knows she sucks and that her fans will vote her in… I loved that someone shouted “Broken Record” as Kara told her about song choice. But it was true, why sing like that crackwhore Amy Winehouse, if you’re not gonna sing one of her songs. Liked Kris, yeah, don’t know his last name, but seems to be the most talented besides Adam, who has toned down the gay shit and is sounding better. I can see Anoop going home tonight. Little Rounds and the Fake Justin in bottom 3 with Anoop.
allison and adam are so the best! i wish they both could win; they’re amazing. i don’t even watch idol faithfully, but it takes about one minute to see that.
Megan, Anoop and Matt in the bottom 3. Megan or Anoop will go. And I will be sad either way because I love them both. :( Although I’d like to see Lil Rounds in the bottom and going home. I don’t know what it is about her, but I can’t stand her! I think she just has one of those “I’m better than you’ll ever be, so suck it” attitudes. It’s kind of underlying, but it’s there.
I absolutely LOVE Adam! And Allison! And Danny. Those are my picks for the top 3. Adam wins, Danny runner up.
I laughed out loud when I saw the blind dude’s hair! Windstorm much? Adam was great as usual, although his hair is approaching Liberace status.. Guy at the end with Ain’t no Sunshine moved me for the first time… Tattoo girl, while quirky, is getting way annoying. Allison’s hair is too too red now, but the girl can sing. Needs better clothes… Paula was semi-coherent. Lil Rounds is boring. Anoop killed me with those faces last night….
My daughter thought the blind guy looked like Peter Pan and I’ve got to say she’s right, they gave him a Peter Pan haircut =)
I think Anoop, Megan and Matt will be the bottom three.. but I REALLY hope Megan goes home, her voice makes me cringe.. and she actually tried to add the Bob Marley Jamaican accent to it too… Ugh, it was just so horrible! =( But then I’m against her ever since she butchered “Walkin’ After Midnight” and “Caw Cawed” after ‘Rockin Robin’, she’s my least favorite contestant… Ever!
Bottom three, Megan (twisty girl can’t really hit the right notes 3 weeks in a row), Anoop (needs to acquaint himself with eyebrow tweezers and update his hair), and Lil (wig was awful and made her look old, and despite having killer vocals can’t grasp how to make a song current). Kris was much better, and at least I remembered his first name. Scott was also better but still think he belongs on a Christian Rock label. Alison was great, loved her hair (Miss Clairol Fantasia Shocking Red was a bit much but still liked it), but that dress was horrid! If Adam doesn’t win, I’m convinced it’s all fixed. He can gay it up, gay it down, just keep blowing me away…
As for Scott’s “challenge” as Paula called it, I don’t think anyone was even thinking of that until she said that he made her forget that he had one… which begs the question why did she even mention it if she’d forgotten?? UGH…
Who’s going home? Toss up between Lil and Megan… I’m hoping it’s Megan, but considering her fan base, my money’s on Lil. You sing real good, girl, but buh-bye…
GET RID OF THE BLIND GUY! I can’t stand his singing.
Does Allison’s lisp or whatever that is… accent? Not sure, but that doesn’t bother anyone? She’s cute, she has great tone, but not sure I could take 2 songs in a row from her… And they have worked on Adam, trying to de-gay-ify him.. it’s not the hair dude, keep it as you want; lose the screeching high notes, gay foot stomps and knee kicks…his performance last week was top 10 all-time idol… Danny will have to kick it up a notch.
Allison and Kris were good. Everyone else was phoning it in IMO.

glad it was Megan that went home, damn was she annoying last night; looked like she was high… which might have been great in the coming weeks if she was gonna get fucked up each week… have a breakdown on stage… damn, now i wish it was anoop…
Kris did a great job on the group lipsynch of “don’t stop believing”… WTF is his last name… think he is # 2 behind the Gay Adam
