I’m hearing more information about the rumored “tell-all” that an American Idol ex-employee is writing. Here’s what the tipster is saying:

I was able to get a little more info for you regarding the new Idol employee tell all book. The medication/drug issues of Paula are going to discussed in detail and how she travels around the country during the auditions with at least 2 gallon size ziplock bags full of orange prescription bottles, as well as dozens of loose pills at the bottom of each bag.

Also how the producers of the show place “plants” during the audition process. These people have some sort of deal worked out with the show in which they avoid the audition process that everyone else must go through and instead they are ushered to the front of the line to register to audition for the judges. When they do this they are actually allowed to skip 2-3 rounds of auditions and go directly to the judging. Most of these “plants” are ushered by reps from 19 Management and/or major producers of the show.

And last but not least. The book is going to talk about how contestants are forced by the producers to sing certain songs during the weekly shows. If the producers do not like the way a certain contestant is singing a song or their song choice they will strong arm them into changing it. When they do this the producers usually make them sing an unknown or less popular song that the contestant does not feel comfortable singing and knows little about. The theory behind them doing is this is that they want to control the voting process and have certain contestants eliminated before others based on the voting at home. They feel that if contestants do a terrible job or sing a song that is not really known the public will vote them off.

The last two things are interesting, but really all I want to hear about is Paula’s drug problem. It fascinates me to no end. How have they not fired her?

Oooh, I hope this book does come out! And soon!

sleepseattle

Thanks GOODNESS someone’s already on top of that.

A Sleepless in Seattle musical is in the works, and planning to hit Broadway sometime in 2010.

Eighteen songs have already been written for “Sleepless in Seattle – The Musical” and producers are aiming for a first reading in May 2009 and an official opening in early 2010.

Oscar-winning composer and lyricist Leslie Bricusse, whose past musicals include “Stop The World, I Want To Get Off” and the song “What Kind of Fool Am I?”, is part of the creative team along with Joel Zwick, who directed the 2002 breakout hit movie “My Big Fat Greek Wedding”.

Producer David Shor, who is developing the musical, said he had recently acquired the theatrical rights to the movie and had already received an option to finance up to 50 percent of the production budget.

Jeff Arch, who co-wrote the movie screenplay, will write the book of the show.

I don’t know why this kind of excites me, but it does. I just HAVE to see how someone turns Sleepless in Seattle into a musical. I’m not usually very interested in Broadway, but this is the kind of shit I’d fly out to New York to see. Hilarious!

Chris Brown is scheduled for arraignment in an LA court on Thursday!

Finally!

The police have reportedly wrapped up their investigation and turned the matter over to the DA’s office, although some sources disagree.

“The District Attorney does have the case,” LAPD media spokesman Richard French told the Daily News.

Prosecutors, however, said they haven’t seen anything yet.

“It’s not true. There’s been no meeting, no new information,” said DA spokeswoman Jane Robison.

DUDE. I don’t care who does what, just PUT HIS ASS IN JAIL!

Listen, I was just going to post this over on my personal blog, because Andy Rooney’s not exactly in our field of vision here on the Beet, but it is SO FUNNY I just had to share it with everyone. I keep replaying it and laughing. There are so many priceless quotes.

Andy Rooney is really too old to be on television right now.

HAPPY DAY!! HAPPY DAY!!!

Britney’s Circus tour kicks off tonight in New Orleans!!!

Oh, how I wish I were there!

BritneySpears.com has posted some of the merchandise they’ll be selling at the tour. Ohhhh, I will be buying ALL of it when I see her in April. I am starting a savings fund right now for “Britney Spears Tour Shit.” I absolutely HAVE to have the one with the full-sleeve tattoo. I will wear it on dates. That is how I will land my dream man. If he doesn’t turn around and leave after seeing me in that, he’s obviously man enough to handle me.

GO BRIT-BRIT!!!

This story really gripped me when it was big news back in 2001. I’ll always have the mental image of Chandra Levy’s father sobbing to the news cameras to help him find his daughter. I normally don’t get that emotional about the news, but this broke my heart. I knew right away that she was dead, and I think he probably did, too. Her body wasn’t found until a full year later.

Today, nearly eight years after her death, a man has been charged with the first-degree murder of Chandra Levy:

A jailed laborer from El Salvador has been charged with first-degree murder in the 2001 slaying of federal intern Chandra Levy, authorities said Tuesday.

The suspect, Ingmar Guandique, is serving a 10-year prison sentence in California for two assaults in Washington’s Rock Creek Park that occurred around the time of Levy’s disappearance. Levy’s remains were found in the park …

Guandique has been imprisoned at the Federal Correctional Institution-Victorville, a medium-security facility, north of San Bernardino.

It’s just so scary to think that there are such horrible people out there, killing strangers in parks. I like to believe that only happens in the movies.

I hope this brings some closure to her family.
