Our Lives Would Suck Without Kelly Clarkson

America has spoken, people, and Kelly is #1 on the charts once again this week with her new album, All I Ever Wanted. I, for one, love the album, but I’m one of the rare people who actually loved My December, too, which flopped because it lacked strong singles. At the time, Kelly insisted on sticking with material she’d written herself, even though her label begged her not to release the album without some more radio-friendly material. I still think it was a damn good album. But I’m glad to see Kelly back on top, one way or another. I voted for you, Kelly!

  • And I helped!!

I downloaded My Life Would Suck W/O You to my IPOD this week, and it definitely helped me log several more miles than I would have otherwise on the treadmill this week. It just makes you want to kick into over drive! WOO HOO

Thanks Kelly, for particpating in the shrinking of Lynn’s Ass!

  • Actually, there are several “good” singles from the My December album. The problem is that RCA/Clive/Dread Lord Davis didn’t wish to support them to radio. I am not a Kelly fanatic, bye the bye, but there really were at least two, if not three, songs that could have charted in a different arena than fluffy pop radio. Clive wanted to teach her a lesson but not to harshly because she needed to come back strongly and make them some more dollars. She isn’t the strongest song writer left to her own devices, but she’s a damn sight better than Bey and her one line adjustments with credits. My December was dark and morbund, not quite where she wished it to be, but it’s a damned lot better than many that get promo. Lesson learned.

Kelly still rocks, I enjoy her, but she’s a bit pale next to Pink, honestly. They both have strengths and live in the pop rock arena but Kelly has areas she excels at and Pink does as well. I like them both but would be inclined to listen to Pink, see Kelly. Weird, huh?

    YMMV, natch…

  • I disliked My December.

But I LOVE My Life Would Suck Without You. I have it on repeat on the iPod and in the cd player in my car.

Yeah, that’s right, I have no shame. She has all my theme songs on there… it helps me through the days. Heh

  • I hate my life would suck without you, it’s always on the radio and it sounds the same as her old songs, but not good.

  • I saw her in concert a year ago and my ears still hurt. I felt like I had been screamed at for an hour.It was horrendous.
