Today's Evil Beet Gossip

The Setting of the Soleil

As the big cheese around here, it’s my job to break it to you that our darling Soleil will no longer be posting on weekends. Weekend posting is a notoriously tough gig (just ask Wendie!), and Soleil did a fantastic job with it. She’s a remarkably talented writer, and her application for the position stood out to me right from the start. I know you guys got as many laughs out of her posts as I did, and I’m sad to see her go. She’s now on to bigger and better things in her professional life, and here at the Evil Beet we wish her all the best.

In happier news, I’m proud to announce that Ms. Kelly Hays will be coming on board for the weekends, starting immediately. Kelly is yet another exceptionally talented and funny writer, and I’m sure you guys will adore her, except for those of you who will bash her just because you always enjoy bashing the new kid. I’ll let Kelly introduce herself more thoroughly when she starts tomorrow morning. Try to be polite, children.

xoxo,
Beet

  • oh, haha, I was like, this post has NOTHING to do with MGMT (the band).. then I figured it out.

I just looked at her blog for a sec, and she has a target women thing up (LOOOOVE Sarah Haskins!) so I am already a fan. I’m glad you hired another blogger!

  • Awww, I will miss Soleil :(

But I trust your judgment when it comes to weekend bloggers, Beet, so…welcome Kelly Hays!

  • I don’t know the reason for Soleil leaving, but I have to give her props for staying as long as she did. Everyone was so rude to her. If I were her, I wouldn’t have been able to to do it. Hopefully she will leave some comments on some stories on here for us to enjoy.
    Good luck, Soleil.

    And welcome, Kelly!

  • Welcome, Kelly! You better be your smartestass you that you could ever be and we promise to love you for it :)).

  • I welcomed Soleil like family, and I’m sad to see her go like family. But nonetheless, I welcome Ms. Kelly Hays just the same! Hopefully Kelly can make half as many typos as Soleil did. No offense to Soleil!

  • Soleil I will miss you! You’re posts were hysterical (and all of the jealous haters leaving ridiculous comments was pretty hysterical too ; P )

  • But that’s the thing Kelsey, Wendie comments stuff but Soliel was hardly involved at all, ever. And her posts were never ever funny.
Welcome to Kelly you’re funny already :D :D

  • Hmmmmm and why didnt Soleil post a good bye post?
    I find that odd…

Good Luck Soleil, I will miss ya.

  • No! I am very sad to see Soleil go, she became my favourite writer on this blog in no time, really funny with a nicely light touch, little bit evil but never mean. But good luck to Soleil in whatever she does now and welcome to Kelly.

  • Perhaps you should have offered the weekend job to Lindsay Lohan. I’m sure she could use the work and I kinda think it would be fun to tell her just how worthless and untalented she is daily. I think you dropped the ball on this one, Betters.

    • *BEETers… not Betters. That makes no sense.
You really need an edit post function for people posting at 6am.

  • Ditto. I started avoiding the site several weeks into Soleil taking over. She. was. not. funny. And, her spelling errors were pure laziness. If I wrote for a living, I’d learn to use spell check. In stark contrast to Wendie, who I have come to look forward to and greatly appreciate, Soleil just didn’t measure up. IMO. Still, good luck to her….maybe she will be better suited for her next gig.

Welcome Kelly!!! I already like herr, given her 2 posts thus far. YIPPEE A Breath of Fresh Air for Weekend EvilBeet!!

  • Soleil was HORRIBLE. Not funny, sometimes not even on topic. Spacing errors, spelling and punctuation errors, and just generally not a smooth read. Beet, you found the best blogger in the world when you hired Wendie!! Besides, of course, yourself ;-)

  • Aaw, and I was starting to really enjoy your work. I’m sorry that you won’t post here anymore, Soleil.

  • I’m a little sad, I really liked Soleil, and I hope the jealous “haters” didn’t chase her away.
