dakota-fanning

So, it’s been made official - Dakota Fanning will star as “Jane” in ‘New Moon’.

Dakota Fanning is set to star in the Twilight sequel New Moon, EW has confirmed. The actress will play Jane, a member of Italy’s evil Volturi, in the anticipated movie, which opens in November. She had been in talks to appear in the film ever since she was offered the role in January. “It would be really cool to do it,” the 15-year-old Fanning told EW at the January premiere of her most recent release, Push, which was also produced by Twilight‘s studio, Summit Entertainment. “I am a very big fan of the books. I read them all and Jane is an interesting part.”

The film is set to start shooting in Vancouver later this month. Still no word on who’ll be cast as Alec though.

    She’s so very pretty! c:
Will be very interesting to see how she plays Jane.. she’s an odd character.

  3. Squeeziee says:

She is far too good an actress to be in that film.

I agree, and I actually liked Twilight like 3 years ago when it first came out…. now I’m sick of it -.-

  4. Shezzy says:

And her career was going so well…

  5. Diana says:

That’s funny, Jane’s supposed to be BLACK.

    • The Beaver State says:

I think she has black hair, but I don’t remember her race being mentioned.

    • The Beaver State says:

And actually, in the book Laurent is white but in the movie he is black. I could be wrong, but I believe Eric and Tyler were also described as white in the books but in the movie they were Asian and black, respectively. The point is, the producers are not going to pass up the chance to cast a big name like Dakota Fanning regardless of how the character was described in the books. I was actually surprised by the more ethnically diverse casting, considering that in a small town in the Pacific Northwest, 99% of the population is going to be white.

    • AnnaMolly says:

Stephenie is referring to the cloak as dark, almost black

  6. Katie says:

    I think she’ll be great …

I haven’t seen “Twilight” (and don’t plan to), but someone I pictured her as Jane when I was reading “New Moon.” Weird : )

  7. roSe says:

She’s growing up beautifully… I didn’t watch Twilight either. Maybe I’ll New Moon just to see Fanning.

  8. lolly says:

she will make a good Jane. it’s not a huge part though …

  9. Heatherlyisaverb says:

Wow, she is beautiful! those cheekbones!

  10. . says:

    she’s PERFECT for the part!

  11. Canaduck says:

Wow, she is so ridiculously beautiful. I am jealous.

  12. Dmarie says:

I’ll watch the movie if she’s in it, yay :D

  13. Michelle says:

Hallelujah! An actor/actress to save this movie franchise! (I only say this because the acting in the first film was a questionable and the screenplay didn’t do the book ANY justice whatsoever.)

  14. sury says:

OME! I think she is going 2 b perfect 4 dat part!

  15. priscilla says:

    Robert, REMEMBER she is UNDERAGE!!!!
she is super cute, but she still has that terrible lisp, and that is heartbreaking.

  16. arugula says:

    lisps aren’t heartbreaking…and i think she’ll play a good jane.

the cloak is black. not the character.

and is anyone else driven nuts by taylor lautner’s wig and fake bake tan???

too bad the real native americans don’t get more screentime.

  17. Cid says:

She really is too good of an actress for this movie.
She’ll make all the other actors seem horrid haha.
And she’s grown up to be sooo beautiful!

And yes, Taylor Lautner’s appearance bothers me. The wig is SUPER annoying, but I think that’s his real skin pretty much. Cause in Shark Boy and Lava Girl, he’s the same color.

  18. JIm says:

I would like to fuck her the day after she turns 18.
