Who watches The Bachelor?  I thought this show was cancelled three years ago.

Last night, on the most dramatic rose ceremony ever, bachelor Jason Mesnick proposed to finalist Melissa Rycroft.  The two-hour episode aired last night, followed by a third hour titled After The Final Rose that was filmed six weeks after the finale.

So, dramz.  Last night on ATFR, the completely insincere Mesnick dumps Melissa because he still has feelings for the other finalist, Molly.

And this is what I love.  He did it on the show because he was contractually obligated to.  He couldn’t break his fiancee’s heart in private; it had to be done on prime time television.  At what point do people realize that actual human beings are involved in these stupid reality shows?  I mean, she was so upset she started lapsing into third person-“You chose Melissa, you don’t want to fight for Melissa, you put a ring on Melissa’s finger, you told Melissa you loved her…”  Ugh.  It was just bad.

Clip one is the break up.  Clip two is the thirty second long goodbye between the two.

  • this guy is SUCH a douchebag. and molly is a slut. these two were totally talking during the 6 weeks and ATFR for everyone but melissa was SO contrived. jason & molly totes want to become the new heidi & spencer- gross.

  • I began watching this show because a friend got me hooked – and now I am so livid. What a waste of my life…especially after what he did to Melissa. Molly is a terrible actress – you could tell she already had spoken to Jason and what was about to happen. So ridiculous. Jason is a total d-bag and who cries 24 times on one show?! What a weak ass excuse for a man!!!

  • I love that in some parts of North America, gay marriage is illegal because it doesn’t respect the sanctity of marriage yet this is prime time network tv.

  • Yeah, I watch. Don’t judge! Actually, more pathetic than the fact that I watch it … is the fact that I was SO EXCITED to see who Jason chose. I. could. not. wait. I googled the snot out of Bachelor Spoilers and learned of this whole CF about 10 days ago. THEN … it haunted me! I was so distressed that this happened that I dreamed about it. Now that is pitiful.

  • it’s pathetic, how lonely and depressed does one have to be to then go try to find the love of their lives in 3 weeks on tv?… what a buncha bullshit.

  • Never watch this show, or even television but that dude’s a total dick. Look at his eyes when she said, something happened. Unless it was edited by the show, there was fear in them, as if she knew everything and was gonna blab on television. Also his condescending tone of voice throughout. BY the way ladies, beware of men who say, repeatedly, they want to give you the world.

    That being said, she’s adorable and I wanted to give her a nice, big hug.

  • when he was on the bachelorette, couldn’t stand him. but for some reason when this season started it was like this is going to be different so we watched each week, my husband being more obsessed with it than me! & the spoilers were so spot on! we need to get a life. hehehe.

  • I was cleaning up and couldn’t get to the remote and saw 30 mins of this. I knew what that loser was going to do and the strange thing is the brunette seemed really hurt. Who goes on reality tv looking for more than 15 minutes?

    And on TV in front of million. Stupid stupid man. How can you say you care and want to give her the world..you are one big lair and i hope you go to hell Jason.

    I feel really bad for her…i want to give her a hug and some cookie dough.

  • it was certainly a twist. ugh. jason is a head case, and he and molly deserve one another. melissa seemed like a truly sweet girl, and can certainly do better than this loser who cries all the time!

  • In case it’s not completely clear, “chemistry issues” means one of two things 1) she sucks in the rack or 2) she commented on his small package, either way, he couldn’t put up with it.

  • i’m just glad this is over. for some reason people feel the need to give me updates on this stupid show just because there is some girl on it with my name. who apparently dodged a bullet. =)

  • You guys know the whole switch-a-bitch was a ploy created by the producers to get ratings.

    ….Right? You guys know that, right?

    Like Sacha said, she didn’t even know that the show was on air anymore. The show has been on forever, and they are using whatever gimmick they can to draw viewership. Molly obviously knew what was going on, and there was so much shitty foreshadowing like the whole “Deanna” thing – her showing up and warning him about “making the wrong decision like she did” followed by Molly’s tears and “he made the wrong decision” when he dumped her.

    I mean, you guys. You guys. Don’t waste your energy by calling this dude a jerk. He made a lot of money to go along with producers, and I bet the girls did too. It’s a gimmick! I think it’s all hilarious.

  • What an idiot. I never saw this season but based on the comment where he ‘cried more than 24 times,’ why didn’t he cry when she was hurt? Ick. What a moron.

    BTW, she’s stunning and he really lost a good one. Other than going on national television to find “true love,” she seems to have her head on her shoulders.
