Paparazzo Adnan Ghalib, also known as creepy mind control dude currently up for a permanent restraining order against Britney Spears, has legal woes.

L.A. prosecutors have officially charged Ghalib with three felonies:  assault with a deadly weapon, battery and hit-and-run.  The charges stem from a January 30th incident in which he allegedly hit a process server with his car.  The server was attempting to deliver papers notifying him of the permanent restraining order request that had been filed against him by Brit’s team of lawyers.

The process server apparently clung to the hood of Adnan’s car to avoid being run over and ended up with a broken wrist.

Ghalib has not yet been arrested.  He also was a no-show for Monday’s restraining order hearing.

R&B singer, Ne-Yo, wants the world to know that, though his buddy Chris Brown beat the hell out of Rihanna, he’s not willing to judge.

“I saw the picture,” Ne-Yo said of the leaked photograph of a battered Rihanna. “That just really hurt me to my heart, man. Again, I still don’t know what happened, ’cause I haven’t had the opportunity to talk to Chris yet. But to take it to that level really hurt my heart. All I can say is, I’m praying for both of them. They’re both in my prayers.”

While Wrigley’s Gum and numerous radio stations have been quick to part ways with Brown, Ne-Yo isn’t as anxious to turn his back on an old friend. “I’m not going to crucify him. I’m not going to do that. That’s still my homeboy at the end of the day,” Ne-Yo said. “For it to go to that level was wrong. I won’t say who was responsible. I won’t pick no sides. I’m just saying it was wrong it had to happen like that, and I’m praying for the both of them.”

“I won’t say who is responsible,”?  Uh, does he think Rihanna bashed herself in the face?

I’m sorry but  I feel that there is a time when you have to be brave and draw a line and take a stand and do every other cliche that equals “not gonna take it”.  This is one of those times.  “For it to go to that level was wrong,” and “…it was wrong it had to happen like that,” sounds minimizing to me.  People look up to celebrities; I have no idea why, but they do.  So, Ne-Yo and all these other fencesitters have a responsibility to send the message that violence, under any circumstance is not okay.

I’ve forgiven Ne-Yo for a lot.  I forgave him for being on that hellacious Rosie O’Donnell variety show.  But this…I don’t know.

Andy Richter will be Conan O’Brien’s sidekick once more.  When Conan returns to television this summer as host of The Tonight Show, he will be going totally retro by having Richter as his announcer just as he did during the early years of The Late Show With Conan O’Brien.

Andy left the show in 2000 to pursue an acting career.  I was preparing to make snarky, “How’d that work out for ya?” comments until I looked at his IMDb page.  He has done tons of stuff over the past eight years.  Nothing I’ve watched, but yeah, tons of stuff.

I haven’t talked too much about this before, but I can completely boycott a celeb based on nothing else but his name.  Andy Richter would be a good example.  I can never watch him because Richter sounds like a hybrid of rectum and sphincter and that grosses me out.  Really mature, I know.  Oh, Andy Roddick-he’s another one.  And Andy Dick.  Huh, maybe it’s just dudes named Andy.  This feels like a breakthrough.

If you’ve been reading this site for awhile, you’ll remember last October, when Evil Beet participated in the Blogger Challenge for DonorsChoose.org. (If not, you can read the main thread here.) Donors Choose is a VERY COOL charity organization that allows donors to pick specific classroom projects in high-poverty schools to help fund. During the month of October, you guys donated $2,325 to help fund projects that benefited thousands of students all over the United States.

Then, in December, I learned that an anonymous donors was so impressed with your efforts that s/he donated $250 in honor of Evil Beet’s readers to help kids learn about history. That was super exciting for me!

Over the past couple of months, I have received a bunch of packages from the teachers whose projects you guys funded — with notes from their students! I now have hundreds of letters from kids in these schools thanking me (and you guys!) for helping fund their classroom projects. I am saving each and every one of them, because they are so special to me, and it is so amazing to actually HEAR from these students about how their learning experience has improved as a result of Evil Beet readers’ donations. They are so excited to have these new learning materials. Some teachers even sent photos of their students using the materials our readers helped pay for! It is so inspiring to see that this country has teachers who are so invested in helping their students to learn, and who take time out to show their gratitude to others who support them in that goal.

I decided tonight to take some snapshots of some of these little notes so you guys could see first-hand how your donations helped these kids. (To protect their privacy, I’m not going to post any of the photos of the actual kids.) I hope you find these notes as cool as I did, and I hope you get warm fuzzies inside when you read them!

Even though the Bloggers Challenge is over, you can still make a donation to Donors Choose. Their website is here. You can choose whatever project resonates with you and help to fund it. Even $10 makes a difference here! I know cash flow is tight for everyone, but I’ll let you guys in on the most important financial lesson I’ve ever learned: The more money I give away, the more money I make. If I am generous with money — even if I only have a tiny bit to give! — the universe will always take care of me financially. Please consider making a donation to this wonderful organization to help even more kids get the kind of education they DESERVE.

(Remember that if you click on a photo again after opening it on its own page, you’ll get the full-size version of the photo.)

Katie Holmes is wearing a god-awful pair of pants, per usual, but this time it’s not her fault.

Photogs snapped these pics of Katie while she was on location in New York filming her new movie, The Extra Man. The flick co-stars John C. Reilly and Kevin Kline, and is scheduled for a 2010 release.

Audrina Patridge wrote on her blog yesterday about how her house had been burgled:

I had a really rough day today – I got home late last night and realized that my house had been robbed. It was pretty devastating!

I spent most of the morning filling out police reports and going through the house room by room making lists of everything that had been taken. Most of the items are replaceable, but they took off with a few very sentimental things too. Definitely not a good way to start the week.

Then, today, she published surveillance video taken of the robbers, and still photos of their faces!

You can see the guy and the girl above. These do not look like your typical thugs — these are, like, rich club kids looking to fuck over Audrina. You can tell they were aware that the cameras were there, but they didn’t do a very impressive job of hiding from them.

Says Audrina:

If you have any information regarding the break-in or recognize either of these people please contact (213) 972-2971. Any tips would be most appreciated.

This is WAY TOO drama-tastic. Part of me wonders if this was all just a set-up to get Audrina back on everyone’s radar.
