Chris Brown Takes First Step Toward Salvaging His Image

56666482chrisbrown225200993918am

The spin has begun.  After a mediocre, sorta, kinda, not really apology, Chris Brown has begun taken anger management classes.  Of course!  And they weren’t court ordered.  He’s just taking them to better himself.  I’m sure this tactic was not suggested by his PR team and has nothing to do with bettering his chances at his upcoming court date.

Why is it that abusers never take anger management classes prior to totally losing it and beating up people?  Like, Chris Brown never knew he had issues until he was punching Rihanna’s lights out?  He just had her pinned on the ground, bashing her, thinking, “Whoa…where’s all this venom coming from?  That came out of nowhere.  I obviously need to self-evaluate and get some help.”

It’s like all the killers that find Jesus on Death Row.  You couldn’t have searched a little earlier in the game?

  • Who cares if he’s taking anger management classes.

The only thing it proves is that he needed them before he kicked her ass.

  • they should let abused women take turns beating the shit out of him. he’s a pussy and will be in the poorhouse for the rest of his pathetic life. let’s hope so anyway.

  • Well said Beet.

Its ridiculous; plus it just show how lousy his PR team is.. Instead of giving a more forgiving statement or apology, hes taking anger management classes.. I mean I understand its for him “to get better”.

But come on, its obviously a publicity stunt. Not heartfelt at all.

  • Abusers always think the victim is at fault, She “provoked him” in his mind and he just “overreacted”. Anger management classes aren’t going to change his misogynistic/narcissistic ways. He’s another OJ Simpson, stay away girls.

  • i agree with everything above – very oj simpson. the next time we hear about him and another woman it will be because he stabbed her to death in her front yard.

  • Fuck that. What he did deserves WAY beyond a fucking anger management class. Though sometimes related, there is a difference between violence and anger. I get angry at various undecipherable bloggers with a 5th grade education and the fuckwit driving like an ass in front of me during morning rush hour. I do not beat the shit out of any of them, no matter how much I want to. I much prefer the attempted murder charge.

  • We don’t know that he’s never been to an anger management class…nor do we know what it takes for any individual to realize the extent of their own problems. It does suck that it had to come to this, but honestly, how else is he supposed to better himself? Do you all honestly believe that he has no real interest in getting help now that this has happened. Yes, his P.R. team probably had something to do with it, but that doesn’t mean that the classes can’t help him to release his problems. If he hadn’t gone to classes until he was court-ordered to do so, the public would’ve cried out becaue he didn’t care enough to go by himself. Now that he is going by himself you say that he’s only doing it for show. There’s really no way for him to go about trying to move on without ridiculous critcism.

    • I agree with Pirate. I think that what Chris Brown did was totally off the charts wrong, and he should be prosecuted. Hopefully he will get his problems under control. Does this also mean that he should never have another girlfriend, never have kids, lose his career, and basically become nonexistent?
What if Rihanna truly loves him? Her PR people would never let her hook back up with him, because it would make her look like a loser. Yes I know it is ALWAYS wrong to become violent, but none of us live in their shoes. She may have been violent as well. I know, still doesn’t make it right, but drunken rages do happen.
He may need to spend some time in jail, and in counseling, but I am not ready to throw away the key. He effed up big time, but I have to say, many of us live in glass houses.
He needs to pay, but not with his whole life.

      • Not one to allow myself to be emotionally vulnerable to other ignorant bloggers posts, I feel the need to emphasize that you are both rationalizing fuckwits. With people like Brown, there is never exactly a first time offense. There are all the escalating events that were never called out that happened before the first time he was caught.
I know my opinion is harsh, but your perspective of finding the good in the attacker is exactly what helped this monster grow.

  • Anger management classes for Chris Brown = Complete Fuckery. It’s a career-based PR move (and possible legal manuever) to make him appear remorseful. My feeling is that if it doesn’t work, he’ll just move into the DMX category and have his own special fans.

Rihanna will suffer (in oh, so many ways) if she goes back to this violent asshole. Teen violence is an escalating issue and this will give a big fat stamp of approval for all boyfriends to beat the shit out of their girls for “actin’ up”.

  • The second step will be for Chris Brown to disavow his Significant Other Battery materials, then sell it all on Ebay.

  • His sincerity is suspect. You brought up some very good points. Hopefully, she will stay away from him in the futrue – and any other woman will be smart enough to avoid him like the plague. Rarely do those abusive men change…

  • Baby steps to maturity and a sure way to keep his anger from hurting another person. Rehab is the key: the experts say, and hey she seems to feel she was doing okay with him for a long time? Shocker! I think they both like to mix it up and battle but their arguing got outta control when she hit the right button .. [via battling Lindsay and Sam] so who knows they might just be perfect for one other.

    • Wow, you so know nothing about which you speak. I hope you never find out what it’s really like to be with someone abusive.

  • I can’t help but puke at the “she may have been violent as well” posts. Yeh, right. If that were true then he would have left her and called the police. Does this dipshit not have a cell phone? He’s too much of a pansy to call the cops but he can smash her face in? As I recall, OJ used that lame argument too when he beat Nicole. And by the way excusers, you cannot rehabilitate an abuser any more than you can rehabilitate a child molester. This is more than simple immaturity, it’s a serious personality disorder. Immaturity is smashing a wine glass not someone’s face.

  • every human has something that bothers you and no one is perfect.if he did wrong and realize what he did was wrong and appoloze for it we should understand.you the one out there critizing might you tomorrow so be more careful of what you say today.

    • Are you serious?

If he did wrong? He beat the shit out of her. Did he realize it was wrong? Once he got caught. He’ll apologize and I’ll understand. Fuck that.

I’ll criticize all I want because I’ll never beat the shit out of someone weaker than me. It’s called honour.

    • I have never done anything THIS wrong in my life. if I did, I hope people do not let me off easily. Christ.

  • I completely disagree with you, Wendie, when you say he should have realized he had a problem before beating her. It sometimes takes a person hitting rock bottom before they can realize they have a problem. Just look at drug addicts. I’m sure a lot of them thought they were fine, just casual users, until something happens to make them realize they need help (i.e. almost dying of an overdose, hitting a close friend or relative while having a bad come down, getting into some sort of accident). A drug addict isn’t going to go to rehab until something happens to make them realize their drug use is a problem. The point is, when you live your daily life with a problem, it becomes so normalized that you don’t realize it’s an actual problem.

With that being said, I totally agree that this is all a PR stunt. Had he been sincere about it, his ass would have enrolled in classes immediately after it happened.
