Hey guys!
I just got back from a weekend of hanging out at Whistler in Vancouver — which is by far the coolest ski/snowboard place I have ever been to! — and I am freaking EXHAUSTED! I literally just walked in the door ten minutes ago, and I’m trying to piece together everything that happened tonight with the Oscars. So much to catch up on!

Jennifer Aniston looked fabulous, but is it just me or does John Mayer look really awkward with her? I was really surprised with the dress choices!! Especially Queen Latifah an Jessica Beil. Two gorgeous women in hideous dresses.
I also think Aniston looks great. She didn’t look over made up with extreme up-do hair… or trying to pull off some extreme looking dress. Really they just look all cute and glowy. haha!
I don’t know what to think about Mayer’s hair. But he looks great in his tux.
So far the only dress that I really dislike was Sarah Jessica Parkers. She looked like she was trying to hard.
It looks like a wedding dress.
John Mayer is sick of her “clinging”! And what the hell was up with her hair?
I thought her hair was cute.
A better question is; what’s up with Mayers “Jimmy Neutron” quaff? He looks like a dessert topping with six feet of forehead and weaselly beady eyes.

sean penn’s speech was brilliant, as was lance black’s.
vanessa hudgens looked so adorable, so did anne hathaway.
but was was up with the amy adams christmas wreath necklace??
I think slumdog got everything it deserved. [have you seen it?..] and angie was good [as always] but kate was better, apparently..
jen looks gorgeous and happy – here’s hoping she can FINALLY find a man who deserves her.
and i’m super happy for kate winslet. it’s been her year for a long freaking time now…

Well the Academy has once again rewarded an actress for breaking up with Tom Cruise! Well deserved awards to Penelope, Heath, Sean and Kate. Slumdog not so much. ‘Feel good’ films are rarely good and this is no exception. Milk should have got it.
did you even see slumdog? i wouldn’t call it a feel good film. sure it might have had some of that at the end, but holy fuck those kids went through a lot.
I have to say, Beet (and team), you really dropped the ball with coverage of the Oscars! As my favourite (by far) gossip site, I treat Evil Beet as my first stop for anything entertainment related.
Having no coverages of the red carpet, dresses, the ceremony or any after-parties by yourself, Soleil or Wendie is a wee bit disappointing… The Oscars are surely one of the biggest days of the year in the entertainment calendar – surely special provisions can be made to cover it?

What’s with the Slumdog Millionaire hate? That was a great movie. All in all the only award that I think a lot of people predicted incorrectly was Kate’s. I was glad Milk had a few victories. Dustin Lance Black’s acceptance speech was wonderful. As was Kates. Congrats to all the winners.

what is up with sean penn being so douchey to his wife last night? pretty awkward when she tried to hug him and he ignored her. also, the whole format of past oscar winners gathering in a circle to stroke the nominees was really icky.
