It was just a couple of weeks ago that Lily Allen announced she was off booze for a while and sticking to cocaine. In that interview for, uh, Interview, Allen said that her drinking wasn’t out of control; she just didn’t want to provide any ammunition to the press. She must have rethought that angle.
Now, Lily admits that last summer she passed out in bed and after awaking to a party in her house, couldn’t figure out how she got home. She had to Google herself to piece together the events of the evening she attended the Glamour awards last July.
Now, I’m not trained in the field of substance abuse counseling, but I’m going to go out on a limb and say that self-Googling with the purpose of trying to figure out if you fucked someone, is a pretty solid sign of addiction. Lily Allen better never fucking complain about the paparazzi. If she keeps going at this pace, the paps pics may be able to help her figure out who the baby daddy is some day. It’s like her own travelling Maury Povich Show.

oh, come on. loads of people get memory gaps after heavy drinking and can’t remember what they got up to or how they got home. i reckon if everyone was so eminently googlable then more people would use it to work out last night’s movements that have been wiped out of memory.
not saying it’s smart, or anything; just that it’s a typical saturday night out for most Brits, not just the substance-abusy ones.
yeah. I have had times where I wish I could have just googled myself to know what happened. how awesome.
oh and that was actually one of my favorite outfits of all time, ESPECIALLY with the light blue nail polish/shoes. I thought it was so damn playful and precious. I have been looking for that color nail polish forever!

Have to agree here, it doesn’t necessarily indicate a problem, just too much to drink of an evening.

Lily Allen is a young woman with pots of cash and a great social life. I am none of those and still, very occasionally, can’t remember staggering to bed. I am not an alcoholic or a drug addict..I just enjoy over indulging sometimes.

I wish I was able to google to find out about my behaviour from the night before. Instead I wait for the inevitable phone calls informing me the who/what/when of my drunken debauchery.
For example: last Thursday night with a club promoter on the dance floor. Luckily, just seen sucking face.

Try not to consider yourself too average. In most ways Lily Allen is a very Average girl but her personality is unique. And no she is not the girl in every single article you might read. She wants these false reports to go away. This is an example of how she is treated. Although the date says February 9 2009 this story and the picture are from June 2008. I have to ask myself why people do mean things like this they really need to leave her alone!
Sorry, folks, but memory blackouts from drinking are a sign of abuse. When other factors are also present, they are one of the diagnostic signs for alcoholism. Just because binge-drinking is normal in Britain doesn’t mean it’s healthy, any more than obesity – also increasingly normal – is healthy.

I’m grateful my drunken self is not Google-able. Because I’d rather not see it and I’d rather my husband not see it.
I used to have a nail polish in that colour. It was the colour of candy-coated chocolates that you’d get at Easter (those Cadbury mini-eggs or Smarties, the Canadian kind of Smarties). And I have a great pair of pumps in that colour. Last year a really well-dressed woman asked me if they were Prada. I practically hugged her, they are from Le Chateau.
Anyhoo, all that to say, if you are young, wear whatever you want and if you drink a tad too much some night, BFD.
i love lily allen. i think her music is oh-so-rad (just got her new album…bitchin!) and she is the only bad-ass, real chick in hollywood. she’s the only honest one and she clearly doesn’t give a fuck what people think. she’s my girl!!
Sometimes she shows concern for what people are writing in comments (but not too often) She has mentioned that most of those stories are false. During a video interview, she played a game of true or false. Did you buy a beach house in Jamaica? True. Are any of the comments about drug use true NO very false. When you listen to what she has to say on video tape it’s really very different then what people print! Her interview with Geoff Lloyd on BBC 1 was a nice interview!

I am a substance abuse counselor, but you don’t need to be one to understand that Lily Allen probably does have an alcohol problem. She seems smarter than our good friend Amy Winehouse and will likely firgure that out sometime soon. I really like Lily Allen and hope that she gets her shit together.
