Okay, how come this shit happens to Hayden but never once happened to Lindsay Lohan?
The 19-year-old Heroes star had to call police to a Suffern, N.Y., nightclub on Dec. 23 after getting kicked out of a 21-and-over venue and having her driver’s license confiscated.
Panettiere, accompanied by six girlfriends, entered the NV Lounge at roughly 9:15 p.m. via the employee entrance and lasted about 10 minutes before security spotted and carded her.
“At that time we asked her and her friends to leave,” NV Lounge owner John Reznick tells E! News, adding that the actress cooperated by giving her license to an employee.
It was at that point, Reznick says, that Panettiere was informed of the venue’s policy to hand over confiscated IDs to the Suffern Police Department.
Hence her need to call the cops to the scene to retrieve her license ASAP.
“When my officers arrived on the scene we questioned Panettiere,” Det. Craig Long tells E! News. “I asked her if she tried to buy alcohol and she denied it. Panettiere told me that someone opened the side door of the nightclub so she could go inside and say hello to friends, not buy drinks.”
The detective says his officers “examined the ID and verified that it was proper ID for Panettiere [and] then returned the ID to her. She said she needed it to travel to California the next day.”
This is such a strange story. Was it a private security company, or did the security belong to the nightclub? If it was the latter, why didn’t they get their stories straight? Like, “Um, BTW, we’re letting Hayden Panettiere and some underage girlfriends in. Don’t card them.”
This wouldn’t happen if it was in Canada :).

All any kid has to do to drink is be financially capable and able to get out of the view of the parents. the problem with teen binge drinking is not age of drinking laws, but the culture that applauds party girls as ‘hot’ and party guys as ‘the cool guys’.
i really dont see the ethical problem with an 18 year old being in a drinking establishment if they are really not drinking. i dont see the problem with 18 year olds drinking at all really, though in a perfect world they wouldnt wake up after having sex with some random guy in a back alley with nothing to remember it by but gravel rash and herpes.

im glad they busted her. the club did the right thing and she shouldnt be treated special and different then other ppl her age! i hate when celebs think theyre better then the rest and think they can get away with anything.

I don’t get why they confiscated her id, that strikes me as heavy-handed. She didn’t do anything heinous. Ok, going in at all was silly. She probably expected her fame to give her a pass. But all they needed to do once they’d carded her was turf her out. She says she didn’t try to buy a drink, and I imagine that’s true, or else the club would be calling her a liar.
Yeah, they must be really bored around there. Otherwise, the police would consider the waste of time and the paperwork this policy causes, and tell the club to stop over-reacting…

Look if you actually DID sign up to go fight in some war or something you should be able to show military ID and drink at 18 but not the rest of those fool children.
