My future mentor, Chelsea “Genius” Handler, is ragging on Tori Spelling’s “gay following” in a new interview with The Advocate. The interviewer asked her if she went to any Prop 8 rallies:
I only go where the gay people invite me to go. It’s not nice to do things for the community only when people are looking. People who speak out for gay people just so that they can create a fan base annoy the shit out of me. People like Tori Spelling. She doesn’t have compassion for them. She’s not going out doing things for them. She’s like, “Oh, I have such a huge gay following.†It’s because no one else is following her!
Ouch!
Chelsea also talked a bit about her late mother, who was Mormon:
Well, we kept the Mormon side down to a dull roar growing up, because we realized how ridiculous and intolerant that religion is. My mom was never really a typical devout Mormon. After my brother passed away when he was 21 years old, my mom turned to religion, as many people do, but she was very tolerant of other religions. It was a melding of religions in our household, which worked out well because we’re all open to anything—and, as a final result, not religious at all. Organized religion, more than anything else, is completely inappropriate.

Tickets for her U.S. tour officially go on sale on Saturday, and they’re on pre-sale now and selling FAST! I bought my Seattle tickets early in the day yesterday, and was trying to organize an NYC trip to go see her with my girlfriends in New York. By the time we had a head count last night, I tried to go online to buy the cheap mezzanine seats, and they were sold out on the pre-sale! In ONE day! Hopefully more will be available on Saturday. But if you want Britney tix, don’t wait! They’re gonna go FAST.
We all know that Australia isn’t going to be winning all (or any!) of the Oscars they’d hoped for, so Nicole Kidman decided instead to dress up like a ridiculous gold statue at the Australia premiere in Madrid.
This look could have worked, I think, if she’d paired it with simple black shoes and maybe a different necklace, but it’s kind of blinding and silly the way it is.
They’ve been divorced for awhile now — and, from what I can tell, Britney still hates her mother — but Jamie Spears and Lynne Spears were spotted out and about together in NYC on Monday night, where Britney was promoting her new album.
Go away, Lynne! You’re nothing but TROUBLE for Britney. And I STILL can’t believe you wrote that damn book about raising Britney and Jamie-Lynn. Capitalizing on the personal and emotional struggles of your children when the wounds are still fresh?? Disgusting. Piss off.
“Oh my God, it’s hysterical. It’s almost going to take away the fun from actually being able to say one day, ‘I’m pregnant!’ Stop stealing my thunder, motherfuckers! … I’m on the verge of it in some way—or it’s something I long for.”
She also addresses how Vogue put her “What Angelina did was very uncool” quote on their cover. “I was just surprised that Vogue would go so tabloid,” she said. “I was bummed. But you almost expect it. Big deal. Done. Next.” (For what it’s worth, Jen, Vogue is grasping at straws these days, and it’s looking like Anna Wintour’s going to be forced out in a humiliating coup that’ll have everyone who’s ever worked in fashion breaking out the champagne.)
Anyway, I’m continuing to totally dig Jen’s approach to life, and loving each and every interview she does. TEAM ANISTON, yo!
