Today's Evil Beet Gossip

We Interrupt This Program to Bring You SNOW!!!

sasha_snow

Hi guys! Beet here! We’re taking a brief break from celeb gossip for me to talk about SNOW.

You basically never see pics or video of Leo on here any more, because I save those for my personal blog, Sasha Is a Monster. But I just had to post a link here because we are having a CA-RAZY snowstorm here in the Northwest today, and I’ve posted a ton of pics and video and me and Leo playing in the snow on Sasha Is a Monster. I know that this is not exciting to people who live in snowy climates, but it is EXCEPTIONALLY exciting to me, having grown up in Arizona and SoCal, and so I know plenty of you will find it exciting, too. If you’re in a warmer climate and want to check out some CHRISTMAS SNOW, there are pics and video here and here. ENJOY!

  • Coming from Australia – i love the rare occasions I see snow too :)

    The only problem I have is when I do all of the stupid things that people who grow up with snow just know not to do…

    eg.

    1. I tried to do a Rocky – got all psyched up listening to the theme music, donned a jumper and joggers, and went for a run…I lasted 100 metres before I broke down in tears (which froze) and my lungs froze over and I couldn’t breathe;
    2. I kept getting my hands frozen to car (and other metal) door handles;
    3. Snow balls actually hurt when thrown at people;
    4. Turning the heat down in the house to save money will actually freeze all the pipes in the house over, burst them, and cost your ex girlfriends’ parents thousands; and
    5. Apparently your sunglasses freeze to your top lip “Dumb and Dumber” style if you chew on them.

  • Love it! We’ve been in Florida for three years and I actually miss the snow! My sister who lives in Mass. has about 12 inches there and it’s still snowing. I miss the nights of snow where it’s light out all night because of the bright white snow.

  • well im a brit living in spain, and i can tell u im amazed at the bright sun comin in my bedroom now. i certainly miss snow and actually any form of cold weather but this is gd too. so if i had that much snow around id be 5 again and torture everyone around me.

  • Thanks! I have never seen snow. Well, except that one time here in the FL panhandle over fifteen years ago when we had a slight dusting of it. Enough for my sister and I to go and make snow/dirt angels in the yard. Sad, I know.
    I would just love for the weather to be consistent here. Some days we have a high of 50 and then yesterday was practically a beach day. If it’s not cold on Christmas day, I’m going to cry.

      • i am also in chicago. damn it’s COLD. and sick of winter! but snow is pretty, when it’s not all dirty slush.

  • i love that you are rockin the gangsta pose. please can i request that next time you do the “west side” with your hand. you know, the one ali g is always doing.

  • I have 30 some inches of snow in my yard here in Spokane. And it is still snowing. Spent 4 hours on Friday and another hour yesterday shoveling the driveway and digging out a car. I am really OVER it. Besides that we woke up yesterday to temperatures that were colder than a witch’s tit in a brass bra, namely -18, yes 18 below zero on the Fahrenheit scale.

  • Toledo Ohio has only got around 4 inches.. but its ice… Which can be a problem if you want to walk on it since you will fall..

  • I grew up in Seattle, and used to get all excited about snow, cause it happened so seldom. I live in Ohio now, and I’m 100% over it. But I remember when I thought it was thrilling!

  • I don’t think Beet meant that as a gangster pose. I think she is doing a strange variation of the shocker.

  • I’m confused. I’m in East Bay, Cali and not even close to getting snow.
    Where is Socal is it snowing??

    SEATTLE – How does the Seattle area compare to other metro areas when it comes to handling snow?

    Compared to Minneapolis and Denver, Seattle comes out on top largely because the Puget Sound doesn’t deal with big, traffic-snarling snow storms very often.

    But it’s a different story when the snow flies.

    The first measurement is how many snow plows and de-icing trucks are available.

    Between Everett and Tacoma, it’s 80 plows and de-icing trucks.

    **********

    O.k. So Seattle has TWICE as many snowplows and stuff than Spokane and we get 3 or 4 times the amount of snow and Seattle is trying to excuse its wimpy behavior by the amount of snowplows it has?????? Whatev’!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I live in the Sierra Nevadas in No. California. We get snow every winter – you get over the excitement of snow after being on the end of a snow shovel after awhile. My 11 yr old will never tire of it though :)

  • Beet,

    This storm is out of control. I’m from Cali too and this shit is craziness!! Be safe and stay warm.
