Bush Shows He’s Adept at Dodging More Than Just Questions

President Bush has some amazing reflexes.  He was attending a press conference in Baghdad as part of a farewell visit, when a reporter hurled his shoes at Bush’s head.  Throwing shoes is considered a major insult among Muslims.

Personally, I just want to know where Secret Service is.  I know it’s just a shoe but you’d think whenever any inanimate object is flying at the President’s head, someone would lunge on him.  Did I just watch too many episodes of West Wing?

As the chaos subsided, Bush’s first statement was “That was a size 10 shoe he threw at me, you may want to know.”   Perspicacity defined.

    • In regards to the show-thrower exclaiming “this is from the widows, the orphans, and those who were killed in Iraq,” it should probably be noted what HUSSEIN had done to the Iraqi people:
“…The Documental Centre for Human Rights in Iraq has compiled documentation on over 600,000 civilian executions in Iraq. …in one operation alone, the Anfal, Saddam killed 100,000 Kurdish Iraqis. Another 500,000 are estimated to have died in Saddam’s needless war with Iran….for the 24 years of Saddam’s reign, these numbers give us a horrifying picture of between 70 and 125 civilian deaths per day for every one of Saddam’s 8,000-odd days in power”

Sorry, I really think that they should’ve been throwing shoes at Saddam. Was the Iraq war handled well? Of course not, but the Iraqis are still a damn bit better off than they were five years ago. Jeez.

      • What do you define as better off?
here are your statitics on the number of Iraqi civilians killed since the invasion? You will find that more Iraqis have been killed in 5 years than under Saddam. You will find that they have been more international incidents of terrorism since the invasion than they were in the decade before. You will find that the influnece of Al-Qieda and other such fringe organisations has significantly increased since the invavsion.

So in my view the Iraqi journalist is more than entitled to throw a shoe at the IDIOT that lied and maiipulated evedience to make it seem as though Saddam was a bigger threat than he is, just so his cronies Oil compamies can benefit!

bush is the biggest loser in the whole history of the world,a nd he is lucky it was just a shoe cause I am sure they are plenty of Iraqis that feel he deserves worse!

  • Telling of just how much Bush has fucked up their country.

I’m surprised he hasn’t been killed or something.

    Perspicacity defined lol!

  • Omg. That would have totally hit me in the face. I have respect for his reflexes…. and that’s about it. Dude had some good aim and momentum with his shoes too!

  • I find shoe-throwing hilarious… like some Flavor of Love drama… but jesus christ. I agree with V – it’s still disrespectful. I’m not so upset about the disrespect of Bush, more that by treating him like shit, they treat Americans like shit also. That bothers me.

    • well if yo treat other countries as shit, how else do you expect people to treat you??

The US govt acts like it owns the world, and disregards other countries soverignity to pursue US national intrests! that is why no one respects the USA, hopefully Barack will help change the world view, But then again actions speaks better than words so we will have to wait and see!

      Bush is a moron!

  • Jesus Christ, are you serious? Disrespectful? Considering how bad he’s ruined things, that shoe is really the least of his worries. I’m with everyone who just takes it for what it is, something damn funny that happened to the country’s most famous frat boy.

    Get over it.

    • LMAO. I’d like to see if you had the balls to throw a shoe at the president. I’m sure you’d find it ‘damn funny’ til you get mauled by the secret service.

  • Awesome stuff. That reporter is a hero in the eyes of the world.

F*ck you Bush and the Neo-con war mongers of America.

  • Yeah, seriously. I can’t believe the Secret Service didn’t get him after the first shoe, haha. I mean, remember how freaked out everyone was about the stupid ‘Shoe Bomber’?

  • I love how with the 2nd shoe, he basically did a “bring it, bitch”… and he publicly saved the Secret Service with the size 10 remark; I’m sure they got the Presidential Seal of Bitchslapping when George was offstage.

  • That fucking guy should be publicly tarred & feathered, then shot for that disrespectful attack against the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES AND OUR COMMANDER IN CHEIF. Whether you personally support or hate Bush, HE IS THIS COUNTRY’S SITTING PRESIDENT.

That guy derserves a bullet in the head. BUH-BYE.

  • Good for that Arab. Bush is the worst President we have ever had. He totally deserves that and much worse after what he and Cheney and Rumsfield did to their country. I wish he would have knocked the bastard out.

  • I may have not wanted him as the president of my country, but I wouldn’t mind having him on my dodge ball team. Bush is quick little f@#ker.

  • This was unacceptable. When you are attempting to assault a leader of a country, it isnt about the leader himself, it is an insult to the entire country especially in a democracy. To all those people laughing at it, the world isn’t only laughing at Bush they are laughing at America.

    • Well, I’m not from the Us and I can tell you that, at least in my country, they’re just laughing at Bush. This kind of thing always happens to politicians from time to time and it’s just a reaction about how good they are at their jobs. I respect his dodging skills, and that’s about it.

  • I like the way Bush says “I don’t know what the guy’s problem is”.
Er well you illegally invaded his fucking country and made a complete mess of it, a million dead and counting. That might be his problem.
And yes DarkEmpress agreed, everyone is laughing at America not just Bush, because that’s who you chose to represent you.

  • HILARIOUS!
ha ha ha ha ha ha

    Thay guy is my hero!
just exactly whad Bush needed as he wraps up his career.
those shoes thrown at his head represents exactly how most people around the world feel about that loser

Merry xmas Bush and good riddance

  • I like the Secret service response time… they’ll take a bullet for him, but they won’t take a shoe.

Dumb Islamic mother fuckers… they’ve been throwing rocks at Palestine for 300 years, but they can’t hit Bush’s big ass head from 10 ft away? I woulda put my keys in my socks and whipped that at him.

They better not try that shit with Obama… He’ll take off his Timberlands and kill a bitch!

  • Whatever the reason the guy had it must hurt. Bush is powerful and the guy knows and nothing can be done apart from throwing that size 10 in his face to show how low this president is

  • TSS ur a freakin moron
in palestine their families were killed n their homes destroyed
and ur worried about their aim……god ur just pathetic
and yeah bush deserved it, he killed their president and destroyed their country he deserves that shoe n to rot in hell for all i care
n if u think by laughing at bush ppl are laughing at america
well u should choose ur presidents more carefully not morons who destroy countries n kill people in cold blood

    • Excuse me, oh person who cannot be bothered to type in complete words/sentences and looks very uneducated:

Saddam was executed by Iraq – Bush did not do it. We just found him cowering in a hole, we didn’t hang him. If I remember correctly, he was tried and convicted.

      • Hahaa thankyou for setting them straight Eyes of Green.

Gosh it’s sad knowing how uneducated people can be. I’m sure most Iraqis are soooo upset that “we killed their president” even though, as you mentioned, he was tried and convicted by his own country.

I am seriously cracking up at the idea that America is all about killing people “in cold blood.” How does that even apply here?

But you know how I know, most of all, that ‘lisa’ is a moron? The fact that she took a comment posted by TSS seriously. :P

  • why is it taking so long for my comment to be approved?

  • Actually, it’s kind of ironic that he chose to do this to Bush. If he had tried this with Saddam Hussein what do you think the repercussions would have been? Things are quite different in Iraq now, though. Why? Oh, that’s right…because the U.S. went and liberated the people of Iraq from that f***ing lunatic. So the point is, for all of you foaming at the mouth Bush haters who state the Iraq war is a total failure and loss, it seems that people there can now at least express themselves, including through the throwing of footwear at a foreign leader, and probably not worry as much about being hung from their balls for 36 hours before being executed. I would call that an improvement over the previous political environment.

    • Yep, what an improvement. Now they can just get killed by stray bullets or random machine gun fire on the streets, those lucky people.

Saddam was a cruel dictator but people are dying at a faster rate now than during his regime. So Bush improved shit all. Also, don’t be delusional: the war had nothing to do with “liberating” the Iraqi people, and all to do with oil. This journalist has seen the suffering of his fellow Iraqis and has every right to throw a shoe or two at that useless excuse of a president.

      • so…erm, do you think the kurds are upset that the dictator that nearly caused their extinction is dead? bush has not been the best president. but i think we should remember that the civil war took place over the economy of the country… the emancipation of slaves was a fortunate by-product. no one ever, EVER goes to war now over issues of mrality, what’s right and wrong. it’s all about the money. you know why there is mass genocide in sudan and darfur, and our government doesn’t give two shits? because there is NOTHING there for us to exploit. it’s how it works.

  • he’s lucky they were just shoes…this time. Iraqis are entitled to their anger towards bush. and his glibness at the attempted assault further proves his arrogance and ignorance. how did someone like him survive when the kennedys, mr. x, and dr. king were murdered? oh…patriots are pacifist these days? fuck.
