Today's Evil Beet Gossip

Did Jessica Alba Do Something Pleasant?

I know, I find it hard to believe, too. But spies are reporting to Page Six that Jessica Alba left a $200 tip at the new SoHo restaurant Via dei Mille after they comped the Nutella crepes she was eating with her daughter.

So: either Jessica Alba did something nice, or the PR reps for Via dei Mille planted this made-up item to get the restaurant’s name in Page Six.

You be the judge.

More importantly: Now I want Nutella crepes. Are those vegan?

  • No, the specific brand Nutella isn’t vegan, but there are vegan versions which should be easy to get in the US, since it’s easy enough over here in this god-forsaken country. And making vegan crepes is no prob.

  • Neither Nutella nor crêpes are vegan, although it is possible to make vegan crêpes if you use soymilk (don’t forget the rum!). It is even possible to make vegan “Nutella”. Just use vegan chocolate and powered hazelnuts, sugar and margarine or something like that. However, there’s nothing like the real and one and only “Nutella”, it is simply incomparable! There’s no competitor on the market which could pose a threat to Nutella.

  • funny you should mention the nutella…i grew up with the stuff. I can eat an entire jar in one sitting!
I read the ingredients and saw all the nasty hydrogenated oil crap in it and bought some organic chocolate hazelnut butter by RAPUNZEL. freaking amazing…i spread it on brown rice cakes to satisfy my sweet tooth…try it..you will be hooked!
as far as jessica goes…if she did leave the tip- good on her…most celebrities are cheap asses…I massaged one and she left me NADA!
Everytime i see a photo of her i want to slap her face!

  • of course they’re not vegan. aside from being vegan for a short period of time, wanna know how else i know? because nutella crepes TASTE GREAT…if they were vegan, you would know.

  • She probably thought she was leaving $2.00 but those ridiculous bangs skewed her vision. She needs to fire her stylist… she looks way better in sweats and her hair pulled back in a ponytail.

  • hahaha, oh Carmen, silly, uncultured girl. glad people like you think so little of vegan food – more of the yummy stuff for us!

  • Nutella is soooo good. And I bet she meant to leave a couple of tens and ended up leaving a couple of hundreds.

  • I’m really quite upset now. Jesus, people, why don’t you listen?! This is IMPORTANT! B, Carmen, Pork… please. If you start spreading rumours like these, things are going to get completely out of hand! HORRIBLE consquences. Personally, I never answer a question unless I’m at least 99% sure , otherwise, I point out the fact that I’m JUST GUESSING. RANDOMLY. Like you guys did.
So now, once and for all, since this is my area of expertise: YES! IT IS ENTIRELY POSSIBLE TO MAKE VEGAN NUTELLA CREPES. (Now look what you’ve done, you’ve turned me into a caps lock user!) Gaah.
