Today's Evil Beet Gossip

Eminem’s Back

And not just with his new track, “I’m Having a Relapse,” but with an autobiography that hits stores today.

The Way I Am recounts the rapper’s childhood and teen years, as well as his recent struggles with drug addiction and the death of his longtime best friend, rapper Proof.

While this is certainly a nice gesture, I think what Em’s fans really want out of him a new album. But he talks in the book about how he’s had trouble writing since Proof’s death.

“After he passed, it was a year before I could really do anything normally again,” he writes. “It was tough for me to even get out of bed, and I had days when I couldn’t walk, let alone write a rhyme … I have never felt so much pain in my life. It’s a pain that is with me to this day. A pain that has become a part of who I am.”

  • “I think what Em’s fans really want out of him a new album.”

Beet, earlier I accused you of being catty. I too was wrong, The most pressing issue you face today is your inability to write in English.

Shouldn’t it be “I think what Em’s fans really want out of him IS a new album.”

    Stone thrower :)

  • Umm, his new album’s coming out in December and is called Relapse.
    Can’t wait, he’s freaking sweett :)

  • Does this guy ever stop whining? Why does he think people care about his never ending drama? Just fucking rap and leave the memoirs to important people worth reading about!

  • jgirl. youre a moron. what struggles have you faced? and who are you to judge? keep living youre ‘pretty’ little life and blogging on your computer. he has helped and inspired so many people and overcame so many things.

like i said, youre a moron.

  • o-kay! disturbia! his face says ‘howard stern’; his glasses say ‘sarah palin’; and his cap says ‘michael phelps’. if that isn’t a kaopectate cocktail then i’ll drop the same tab of acid he is on!!!!!

  • To Chanlynne:

Tu shay my fellow fellow blogger…it seems you live in a glass house and throw stones as well!
What is even more pathetic is your need to stand up for a celebrity that doesn’t even know you exist! My sugestions:
Rip the Eminem posters off of your trailer walls…and get back to the road side diner…and I’ll get back to my “pretty life” that doesn’t need inspiration from a has been white rapper…uh hum…..

  • I feel an intense need to point out it is in fact touche’…in keeping with the theme of nitpicking about spelling on a gossip blog…other than that jgirl, I agree with you!!

And I’ve also had that “Guess who’s back, shady’s back’ song in my head for two days now since reading this post.

  • to Eyes of Green…
thanks for the spelling heads up…I got my from the Urban Dictionary…I was trying to be clever…i guess i failed…i also noticed i spelled “suggestions” wrong…just keeping with the theme…
Here is the definition from the Urban Dictionary…which is pretty lame, I admit…

tu shay 63 up, 19 down
An alternative to the word “touche”, which is defined as “Used to acknowledge a hit in fencing or a successful criticism or an effective point in argument.” This alternative in particular pertains to the latter half of that definition only. Jon The Korean coined this infinitely useful, and infinitely hilarious, alternative spelling.
(as originally used by Jon The Korean)

“I can’t believe this thread is on its second page.”

    “Tu shay.”

  • Ooh wow, Eminem’s coming out with a new album…who cares!!! The rap game is not what it use to be, people arent buying albums anymore (although I have no doubt people will buy the album just off of hype alone) but and sorry to say this but his time is done! Nobody checking for ole boy anymore. Its all about the lil wayne’s and souljah boys and the rest of the wack rappers today. You had your shine before the total destruction of hip hop…just fall back and continue to make money off of 50 cent’s booming career (like Dr. Dre did off of Snoop) and be happy!

  • The many of you who have said “Who Cares!” regarding his new album must not be cognizant of his awards, sales figures, or international prestige. Though you may not enjoy the subject matter he dwells in, many know of Eminem’s talent as a lyricist, and to try and deny his ability is only obstinate stupidity on your part. Anyways, I’m looking forward to the album. I’ve long been an Eminem fan and Relapse will definitely be a first day purchase.

  • He does look like he’s in pain. I hope his face isn’t stuck that way or something. =(
He’s wearing a baseball cap backwards, guys.
