VH1 Celebrity Rehab Season Two Trailer

I’d like to state for the record that I continue to feel it is grossly irresponsible and morally reprehensible for Dr. Drew — an actual physician — to enable these people to feed their addiction to fame in the name of their addiction to drugs and alcohol.

That being said, this trailer is pure rubber-necking bliss.

  • Dr. Drew is awesome. I think willing “celebrities” using their fame to show people the harsh reality of addiction can be helpful to some while being entertaining/informative to others.

  • Jeff Conway is just so sad to see…he was such a hottie, and talented…he’s such a wreck, looks about 100 years old. Not exactly Dr. Drew’s “success” poster child, that one.

    The rest look pretty loserrific…

  • Damn! I can’t watch the video because I’m not in the US. Of course, they make the commercials available for viewing. I doubt it’s worth the time to go thru a proxy browser.

  • As a L.M.S.W and a Certified Chemical Dependency, I watched the first season with interest. I may watch the second. Keep in mind though that Dr. Drew is more about making money than he is about treatment.
I do believe he wants to shed some light on addiction and the complexities of treatment.

However, He is going about it irresponsibly. Add to that his implications about Tom Cruise and possible sexual abuse, and Angelina Jolie and Heroin abuse and I find another wannabe, that is coatailing on celebrities.

No responsible professional would dream of making statement that damaging.

  • As an addiction professional, I found the first season a little heavy on “entertainment” and lacking on treatment. However, I am glad that some light is being brought to the process of rehab. It seems like many people think rehab is a simple process that will magically produce recovery and that is just not the case. I hope that this year there will be more structure in the treatment and more honesty about the outcome.

  • Obviously the people that keep bashing this show for showing celebs using and going through rehab have never seen A&E’s Intervention. “Everyday” people are shown living their hideous addictions. Pardon the pun, but it’s extremely sobering and will save lives.

Dr. Drew is not a celebrity “Quack”. He is doing the same work that he does in everyday life, but is also hoping that people will see themselves in these celebs and get help.

  • I somehow made it through a well advanced opiate addiction.Prior to the rehabilitation ordeal, I was Dx. with Stage 4 melanoma. I have done several leads, and will often tell others I would take the cancer over the addiction…the rehab and eventual sobriety were that ugly! As a recovery person, I think I’ve learned that everyone’s inspirations are very different, and if even one person can escape the nightmare of addiction from the show, well done.

  • I was so amazed at all the breakthroughs on last weeks show. I am really pulling for all of them. Julie (Tawny) you are so strong. We love ya, here in Nebraska!
Gary B., Steven A., Rodney K., ….everyone there! You can do it. God will grant you the serenity to accept the things you cannot change. The courage to change the things you can. And the wisdome to know the difference.
to all the staff, Dr Drew……..yes this show is of entertainment value, but the value far exceeds the money as far as learning, too. I’m glad VH1 has this show on the air.

  • I got so pissed when I watched the first program about the celebrities going into Pasadena. They actually showed The model (Amber) getting high on Suboxone??? and claiming to be some major junkie?

Thanks Amber for trying to tell the U.S. that you can catch a buzz from this med…SIKE what the hell were you thinking? Suboxone is a safe monitored medication used for opiate withdrawal and cravings (a much better alternative than Methadone).

I am a “real” recovering junkie that was addicted to not only the drugs, but also the needle. Today I use the Suboxone treatment under the supervision of a Doctor and it Really made me mad watching the part where Amber claims to be this huge addict and she is shown using the Suboxone to get HIGH.

Wake up pretty girl! You don’t know ugly til it’s staring you in the face! Stop giving this GREAT Medication a BAD rep.
