Looks like someone’s hoping to pull a Natalie Portman.
Harry Potter starlet Emma Watson was spotted touring the Harvard campus for most of the day on Tuesday and causing quite a stir among the students.
She was sighted at approximately 10:30 yesterday morning at Quincy House by Chase Russell ’11 and Brian P. Hill ’11.
According to Russell, Watson was with two escorts—one of whom was a Harvard affiliate—and was looking to see a dorm room in New Quincy, passing on the chance to see his Old Quincy room.
Russell, who had a brief chat with Watson, said she seemed “nice†and “very American.â€
Hill said he nearly collided with one of Watson’s escorts while leaving the House, before unthinkingly saying he was on his way to class. Watson then went to visit the room of the next student she approached, much to Hill’s chagrin.
“I actually called my mom; I was so distraught,†he said. “It was all I could think about for the entire morning.â€
Describing a British actress as “nice” and “very American?” Calling your mom because you may have inadvertently discouraged Hermione from seeing your dorm room?
If this is the kind of brilliance Harvard’s accepting these days, I’d truly hate to see what my alma mater of Arizona State is allowing to seep through its doors. They’re probably just allowing the students’ STDs to take the admissions tests at this point. Because I’ve come across some strains of gonorrhea that could probably do better on the quantitative portion than my sophomore-year roommate.

i actually go to a really good school where it seems like 90% of us are rejects from the nearest member of the ivy league… but i know if i had ended up there instead of here, i never would have been happy.

Okay, Beet, the coincidences between you and I are getting weird. You grew up in the Phoenix area (as did I – went to Camelback HS), then moved to the PacNW (I’m in SW Wash), and now I find out you went to ASU (go Sundevils!). Oh, this is about right. I work at a college quite like Harvard (in Western mass, in a town beginning with “A” and ending with “mherst”). Believe me, this is about the caliber of student we have too.

Okay, just saying… Not that I feel like Emma should be at Harvard, but she is really intelligent. Suprisingly so. So, she might actually have the credentials to get in.
I hate how people always says she seems smug, rude, self centered, etc. I thought so too, until I met her, I’ve only met her on two seperate occassions, both on a mutual friends birthday, my friend kind of introduced us since I was walking by when she was talking to Emma, and she was the sweetest person, introduced herself, asked how I knew the birthday girl, and if I lived in the area, etc. We only talked for like fifteen minutes, but she was really nice. The next year, at the same friends birthday, she saw me, and even though I hadn’t seen/spoken to her since the birthday party the year prior, she said hi to me, knew my name, asked how school was going (I’m in uni, and she was thinking of applying to where I was going), I was really shocked she remembered me, and now we actually stay in contact a bit, I don’t know her really well, but she’s an exremely nice girl, who deserves everything she’s been given
