  • Lol, beet.

“#debate08 WTF is wrong with McCain’s suit? Did they pad the chest? It’s all so awkward. ”

All I can think of a Janet Jackson-esque wardrobe malfunction! If that happens, I don’t think I’ll recover…

  • @ Ashley,

Yeah, he sounds just like Bush because he is just like him!!

I pray for the sake of America and the world that McCain is not elected!!!

  • Ahhh the way McCain says ‘goodies’ when he’s talking about proposed bills is just creepyyy. Does not sound good when an old man uses the word ‘goodies’.

  • LOL Obama: “a lot of you remember the tragedy of 911.”
REALLY? Just A LOT of you? Bad choice of words, B.

  • Actually “KB” it IS a good choice of words because saying ALL of you is poor rhetoric. Babies and children probably wouldn’t remember.

  • But, Emily, there probably aren’t many babies and children watching the debate, so I don’t think Obama’s addressing them. Nevertheless, “a lot” is kind of an understatement.

  • quick question, anyone know where the hell tss went? i dont check for a few days and the person completely goes missing?

  • Apparently his handlers asked him to stop saying “Maverick” and start calling everyone his friends….

  • Yeah Erin I agree, every time he says that I get the heebie-jeebies mad bad. Actually it’s really just every time he talks. He is a creeper for sure, and condescending. Barack is the one who is ACTUALLY straight-talking, McCain is the one bumbling around vaguely and making failed jokes.

  • When McCain started talking about healthcare and staggering around, I thought “now THAT man needs to see a doctor!” How old is he anyway, 86?

  • I was being facetious, but dang! He’s an old 72, anyways. I just want to give him some milk and cookies and tuck him into bed. Night night, Grampa!

  • This election is over. Obama will win. McCain is deluded and a condescending asshole who showed the world he is a tab bit racist with his, “that one” comment and eluding that the young black man wouldn’t know who Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac were.. He is a liar and a cheater and he needs to disappear and take that moron Sarah Palin with him.. And that dumb bitch wife of his in her $10,000 pants suit. She has a lot of nerve claiming Obama is running the dirtiest race ever. She has been sniffing too much hair bleach.. McCain can’t win on policy so he attacks the credibility of his opponent. Tries to make the American people think Obama is a terrorist… Thinks we are dumbed down enough to actually take his word at face value… HE is the fucking terrorist. Go home, John. It’s all over….

  • okay, okay… I’m totally voting for Obama. BUT, how was Gwen Ifill from the VP debate an un-biased mediator given her up coming book “Breakthrough: Politics and Race in the Age of Obama.”

  • My favorite line of the night had to be the “overhead projector” purchase for the planetarium. I hope that came with a box-set of constellation transparencies.

  • sassysabs,
that’s NOT the title of the book. Nowhere is Obama in the title. The title you’re referring to is the one that was on SNL. That was a joke. Look it up. Ifill even stated that she hasn’t even STARTED the chapter w/Obama.

  • That whole “I’m your pal” laughfest that McCain was trying to pull off is really just creepy. His jokes come off as insincere and contrived. I have a hard time watching him.

  • McCain probably called Obama “That One”, because he forgot his name – senility is creeping in. I was waiting for him to come out with “That black boy”. Maybe he’s saving that line for redneck Palin to use in her next stirring speech.

  • combjockey – very well said. I love the reference to that “moron Sarah Palin”. From now on that is what I’ll call her.

  • Combjockey:

You are the type of person who makes me sick by pulling racist insinuations out of your own a$$. Why do you have to make it about race? Why do you automatically assume that’s why he said that? What he was doing was de=personalizing Obama, you know, like the whole empty suit thing you hear floating around? It is a strategy, not bigotry. You are a race-baiter. Why don’t you go elsewhere to convince people they are being unjustly treated…your type of mentality is exactly why we have affirmative action, and cyclical racism (which believe it or not is something black people are capable of too…especially when convinced that there is racism in places where there actually isn’t). Saying McCain won’t win on policy just proves your ignorance in this race, and acting like attacking an individual’s credibility is just a dirty technique solidifies that. Everyone knows Obama’s policies have been vague at best, and difficult to nail down.

What is even funnier is how you accuse McCain of all these things, then turn around and do them yourself. For example: “Tries to make American people think Obama is a terrorist…”well, he didn’t even insinuate that, but you flatout called this veteran a terrorist (??) I guess all those years as a POW was just to lull us into a false sense of security?

Also, I think you meant- alluding. Too bad a constructive viewing of that debate most likely eluded you.

I’m betting that your next move is to call me a racist.

  • Maybe McCain’s suit was “weird,” because his right arm is not well. He proudly served our country (something Obama has no clue about) and it’s really irritating that no one sees the truth. I am totally voting for McCain, but I fear that Obama will win. This whole country thinks that “change” is good. Do you really think it’ll be good when he cuts BILLIONS of dollars in defense contracts? Do you really think it’s wise to not keep up with technology in our defense systems? This whole country is making this the MOST unfair election ever! Almost every single network is totally biased. I love this website, but it’s just a shame that people are getting their election information from here. Do you really want to vote for a candidate because some girl who gets drunk (random celebrity) every night thinks they are the better candidate?

  • > “a lot of you remember the tragedy of 911.”
REALLY? Just A LOT of you? Bad choice of words, B.

No I don’t think so at all. Everyone who supported the illegal war on Iraq have forgotten 9/11 and the victims. How can anyone say they care about the victims of 9/11 and also say America made the right choice by starting a war with Iraq??

    > “McCain probably called Obama “That One”, because he forgot his name – senility is creeping in.”

He called him “that one” not because he forgot his name but because that racist cracker couldn’t give him the respect of using his name.

  • And btw, Beet, that “awkwardness” around the chest stems from his time as a POW…when his arms and shoulders were broken continuously over a 5 year period. Nice.

  • Donkey Punch
What the crap was that incoherent mess? You are embarrassing yourself. You make no sense. Even when I give your ramblings the benefit of a translation…it still is illogical.

    RACHEL!!!
Go Girl!! I couldn’t agree with you more. See you at the polls!

  • I wish McCain would shut up for two seconds about Obama and talk about what HE PERSONALLY is going to do.

Then again after he’d say something about Obama I’d go back to paying attention to the cat, because the cat just appeared far more intelligent.

And I enjoy how we’re McCain’s “friends” but Obama’s friends are “Cronies”. Could he have said that any more in the first few questions? And once Cronies was done with, “Friends” started popping up.

I almost stood up, clapped four times and found a fountain to jump and dance in. “I’ll be there for youuuuu…”

  • How does Mr McCain plan on making this fly?

… “As president of the United States, I would order the secretary of the treasury to immediately buy up the bad home loan mortgages in America and renegotiate at the new value of those homes, at the diminished value of those homes,” he said.

  • i cannot believe mc cain actually said “i know where bin laden is and i know how to get him” with a straight face. if he really knew then why the fuck doesn’t he tell bush? i guess he’ll only capture bin laden if we elect him president. and his “that one” comment was one step above “those people.” what an asshole.

  • Does McCain remind anybody else of Dr. Evil? I can’t even watch him, all I can think about is Mr. Bigglesworth.

  • NOTE TO ALL READERS HERE:
Please note that someone else has joined our discussion using the name “JoJo”
I have been posting here for about 2 years using the name “jojo”
Please be aware that I in no way at all agree with the remarks that JoJo makes here, and would respectfully request that JoJo perhaps choose a more distinctive name since I have been posting here for a very long time under this name.
    Thank you.

    Obama/Biden ’08

  • McCain seemed very nervous, I thought, at the beginning of the debate. Did anyone notice his sort of gasping breaths, followed by very heavy breathing? After awhile he seemed to be breathing normally again.

Anyway, I am very glad that McCain reined himself in, or was reined in by his staff, at least for the course of this debate. If he and his running mate continue their ‘he’s a terrorist’ smear in public settings, I honestly fear for Obama’s safety.

    What a mess.

  • > time as a POW…when his arms and shoulders were broken continuously over a 5 year period. Nice.

JoJo do you make that crap up or did some Republican liar make it for you?

McCain broke his arms when he ejected improperly from his jet despite being trained how to do it safely. McCain even has admitted that if he wasn’t an admiral’s son he would have died because as soon as the Vietnamese found out who he was he was given the best medical treatment. He was treated with kid gloves by his captors because they knew who he was.

  • Rachel> 4 more years of Bush will kill this country. Do you really want McCain?

    P.S. Hasselbeck is that you?!

  • Mccain is a bush replicate, people are wanting to vote fo obama because change IS a good thing, at the moment america is looking to spend over a trillion dollers a YEAR on war, for no reason.

  • Whew, jojo, I was wondering if you got hit in the head or something.

McCain showed his true self today, an angry old man with little interest in dealing with the issues that really matter to this country. Everything we’ve ever heard about McCain being a bully, being short-tempered, and lashing out at opponents was evident tonight. Calling Obama “that one” may signal the end of John McCain’s political career.

Whatever honor John McCain ever had (and I’m not certain he ever did) is completely gone. And Cindy McCain actually said that Obama is running the dirtiest presidential campaign in history. Anyone with two eyes can see whose slinging the mud around here.

John McCain should be ashamed of himself.

  • Obama is running the “dirtiest presidential campaign in history? Is Cindy back on the pain pills? What could possibly be effecting her memory? From my recollection campaigns are always like this and this one is one of the “cleaner”. It’s called politics. It hurts to have your lame ass husband insulted. Is she pissed because people are making fun of Palin? I bet deep in her rich little heart she thinks Palin is way below her standards.

  • You know you would think that McCain would know better than want to continue this war.
At this point it’s just about as pointless as Korea, Vietnam, desert storm or this current war. Soldiers chasing politicians unfounded fears in a strange country. The worst part is, most of them have no choice but to go fight.
Sorry actually the worst part is that once they return from war, the politicians who sent them there don’t want to really help them. They have to fight even harder to receive proper medical and psychiatric help!
Is that any way to treat your soldiers? Who are protecting you from terrorism.

I don’t give a flying duck that he was a POW in Vietnam, he has obviously NOT learned anything from that experience.

  • Oh and it’s not that I don’t think we should protect ourselves and our country, but I do believe there is a better solution than what’s being tried at the moment.
And I DO respect our troops immensely, I just don’t think it’s fair for us to expect them to fight this war any longer. Let them come home! Let them be with friends and family!

  • McCain is a true patriot who is worthy of the office. Obama is controlled by special interest groups. Don’t believe a word he says.

  • Rachel, I will join you at the polls. Every single solitary one of these other posters needs to go read OBAMANATION and FAST! You truly have no conceivable CLUE as to who Obama really is. It’s very similar to watching someone like Jerry Falwell in a meteoric rise to the pulpit! And you poor people have no better sense then to take him at his word. And DonkeysAss or whatever the heck your name is, you need to lead this pack into the library son because you have done the lease amount of homework of all of them if you do not know about the years and years of torture that McCain underwent. Purplemonkeyshit, you are so dead wrong about pulling out of a war before the objectives have been met, you make my skin crawl.

Quite frankly, all of you need to get your heads out of your asses long enough to acquire some facts

  • Before the objectives have been met…omg you are killing me here…
What objectives, and don’t spit out all that baloney every one else does either okay!
When this whole thing started, it was about WMD, after none are found, it was about finding Bin Laden, well they never found him.
They never will, and Americans weren’t buying it anymore anyway, so it was about Al-Quada, we have to get them now…

Meanwhile mass amounts of tax payers dollars are being wasted…
Countless of needless casualties not exclusive to American soldiers, let’s not forget who’s also over there helping them out.
This is all happening while Americans, in America are dying because they can’t afford medicare, people, and companies are going bankrupt, and will probably never recover, and countless of other important issues will never be addressed if McCain or who ever, decides to continue on this same path.

I can’t say I agree with everything either candidate has to say, but I am going to say that maybe one is a better choice than the other. That’s all I’m saying.

  • “Campaign contributions from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac made to Barack Obama may backfire if the Democratic presidential hopeful wages an aggressive campaign to cast blame on rival John McCain and the Republicans in Congress for the mortgage-related losses that forced the U.S. Treasury to take over the quasi-governmental mortgage giants.

A review of Federal Election Commission records back to 1989 reveals Obama in his three complete years in the Senate is the second largest recipient of Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae campaign contributions, behind only Sen. Christopher Dodd, D-Conn., the powerful chairman of the Senate banking committee. Dodd was first elected to the Senate in 1980.

According to OpenSecrets.com, from 1989 to 2008, Dodd received $165,400 in Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac campaign contributions, including contributions from PACs and individuals, followed by Obama, who received $126,349 in such contributions since being elected to the Senate in 2004.

In contrast, McCain warned of the coming mortgage crisis as he pressed in 2005 for regulatory reform of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.”

  • Obama has these connections with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Jim Johnson and former Fannie Mae chairman and CEO Franklin Raines are part of Obama’s advisors. Franklin Raines stepped down after a $6.3 billion accounting scandal, which Obama’s calls on for advice on mortgage and housing policy matters. Jim Johnson was on Obama’s VP search and made millions from his Fannie Mae CEO job.

Obama hired these people who were a big part of the team that brought down Fannie Mae to be on his campaign.
How come Obama has not fired these people yet? How can we trust Obama to help our economy when he hangs around people that would bring America and our economy down?

The same goes for his associations with so many others….

  • re; combjockey

And that dumb bitch wife of his in her $10,000 pants suit. (meaning cindy mccain)

yeah, she’s a ‘dumb’ bitch huh, moron? her income was over 6 million dollars last year…what was yours? i’m not even a mccain fan but just loved reading your stupidassed post. eat my pussy, fuckface!

  • And Britney Spears makes nearly 800k a month. As usual, censorthis, I wonder what the hell is the point of your comment.

  • Remember the last dumb question at the 2nd presidential debate? ” What don’t you know? And how will you learn it?”? Below is how McCain should have answered:

I don’t know how Senator Obama can allow infants born alive to die on the table with no medical treatment since Everyone knows that is wrong.
I don’t know how Senator Obama could cut jobs of Americans by raising small business taxes when no government program has been revisited to cut spending.
I don’t know how Senator Obama could sit in an America hating church for 20 years.
I don’t know how Senator Obama could be friends with William Ayers the unrepentant cop killer and homeland terrorist, free only because of evidence mishandling.
I don’t know how Senator Obama could turn the traditional institution of marriage of a man and a woman on its head.
I don’t know how Senator Obama could allow curriculum in the public schools that encourages homosexuality.
I don’t know how Senator Obama could support hate crime laws that would punish you more harshly than me for the same crime due to the color of your skin or sexual preference..
I don’t know how Senator Obama could favor a law that allows a child to be born except for the head, puncture the skull, and then insert a vaccum tube to suck out it’s brains so that we can pretend it was dead at birth.
I don’t know how Senator Obama could ignore the 2nd amendments right to bear arms, when historical documents tell us it is there for protection from our own federal government and office holders that tend to be dictatorial and ignore the constitution.
I don’t know how Senator Obama could deny school choice to parents while he sends his children to the school of his choice.
I don’t know how Senator Obama could support government controlled health care in light of the waste and mismanagement of veterans health care, Medicare, social security, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac.
I don’t know how Senator Obama could ban off-shore drilling for energy when people are suffering for lack of energy right now.
I don’t know how Senator Obama can say as a sitting Senator “I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction” page 261 of his book The Audacity of Hope.
But the more I get to know Senator Obama and analyze his voting record, the more I will learn.

  • @ smoky
It’s like this you can push your point across all you want, but I do not have the time for this. I’m not agreeing with you, and you aren’t going to change my mind. No one can win a political, or religious argument.

  • this debate sucked. the end. oh I never knew The One could blink so much, and McCain’s voice sounds like the guy in commercials trying to sell you the newest pharmaceutical product.

  • @purplemonkeypaws
Maybe I can’t push my views on anyone, but for goodness sake, some of the people on these boards drive me to the brink of sanity with their complete lack of knowledge and are so easily led astray by the words of the unlearned. Read, study, absorb knowledge people….and I don’t mean on these boards!

    @Eyes of Green
    Smoochers :-)

  • @ smoky
That is a good point on your last post, and I definitely agree 100% with you on that.

  • If Ayers is such a pivotal issue, why didn’t John McCain have the balls to bring up in the debate last night?

  • @ smoky
    FINALLY!
There needs to be more people like here on this board.

I wish I could be as well spoken and get my point across as well as you do. I have been trying to say much of what you have said many times, but my emotions get in the way, and I end up getting upset, and I get off subject and it never comes out the way I originally wanted.

I have a question for you though-
“I don’t know how Senator Obama could deny school choice to parents while he sends his children to the school of his choice.”
I haven’t heard of this yet. What is this about?

  • Wow… I can’t believe so many of you here think Obama should win the election. Everything would be a mess. He doesn’t want to take care of the people . The reason government is so messed up right now is because of all the crap Clinton did wrong when he was president, he got all those democrats in to office and THEY are the one’s still making decisions now, we need more Republican’s in office to straigten things out.
Palin and McCain have the right idea… a lot of the MAIN reasons Obama is interesting to people it because a lot of younger people like him because he seems fun, and I know black people personally who want to vote for him simply because he is black. Everyone really needs to pay attention to who will ACTAULLY do the best job. I think it is obvious.

–Too much government is a bad government.

  • Thank goodness that was not actually you, Jo Jo!

Anyone who believes “Obama Nation” is at all factual, and not just a fictional smear piece by an ugly hate-filled piece of garbage who just got his dumb fat ass kicked out of Kenya where he was trying to spread more hateful lies because he was too much of an arrogant idiot to figure out that he needed the proper paperwork to do so, needs to walk away from the Fox News for a second and into reality. There are numerous sources- websites, books, newspapers- that discredit most of what is written in that book and his last swift-boating book about John Kerry. It’s like he published a “Slam Book” he and his loser friends passed around. Please, spare me the lecture on facts until you learn what a fact is (hint: it’s not “I know Obama SAYS he is a Christian and stuff, but at one point in his life he lived in Indonesia therefore he is a Muslim”). You, “my friend”, have no CLUE who Obama is.

Smoky- I stand the other side of you idealogically, as do many other Americans. But as purplemonkeypaws said, we will probably not ever agree when it comes to our own values and morality. And I think most folks on these boards know better than to come to a gossip site for real information (although some read a gossipy book like Obamanation for real information????). I think we comment on sites like these because this election is so much on our minds, that it can’t help but find it’s way into other aspects of our lives. But we should absolutely not count on one silly website to be our source of news. I’m sure we’re all in agreement on that one!

  • “We are the masters of our own destiny, yet actively choosing our own paths can sometimes be intimidating. People have the ability to create positive changes in their lives, yet distorted fear-based perceptions can often lead to stagnation. Fear of failure and fear of success are two common aspects of the fear of change, both reflecting similar negative beliefs of low self-worth and self-doubt. When strong self-worth is present, however, change can be welcomed as an opportunity for growth, forward movement, and personal fulfillment.”

I, for one, am not afraid to make the change.
    Obama/Biden ’08

  • I was trying to read the comments but it’s hard to read when you got tears in your eyes. I’m sitting at work laughing hard as hell!!! and only read like the first 10-15 comments. OMG, y’all are/were trippin’. Now I hate i didn’t log on last night. I will “attempt” to read the rest, hopefully it won’t cost me my job. Here we go…….

  • @Dinosaurs
I never once stated that Obama Nation was fact. What it does do however, is scare the beJesus out of you enough to do some quite serious research on the each of the points that it makes.

  • Let me get this straight…you’re admitting that Obama Nation is filled with half-truths, distortions, and lies. Yet we should all go out and read it FAST. But let’s not get “led astray by the words of the unlearned” as you astutely state up thread.

How about you head over the FreeRepublic and see what your buddy Jerome Corsi (co-author of Obama Nation) is up to. From what I’ve read, he’s quite the prolific poster over there. Check it out:

    http://mediamatters.org/items/200408060010

Now, since this is a gossip blog, smoky, I look forward to seeing your opinion on the UK movie premier of High School Musical 3.

  • @jk
Your friends at the bar are calling you….
And as to the gossip blog comment: If you and your cronies would limit your mindless comments to those areas only you and I both would relish the CHANGE.

  • @ eyes of green

“You DISAGREED with the Barack Obama position on 43 of the 48 test questions. This means you disagree with the Obama position 90% of the time.”

    hahaha, not a surprise.

  • What is biased about asking if you agree or disagree with something Indigo? Is it because it is showing how Obama feels on the issues?

Yeah, you’re right. That is soooooo biased. I forgot we as a nation are not supposed to question him or disagree with his plan to ‘change’ our great nation.

    So, what was your score?

  • I don’t think it is unpatriotic to question a war – we are still observing that ‘free speech’ right.

  • @ indego

That test is not bias, I just had one of my friends take it, and hers came out-

“You AGREED with the Barack Obama position on 26 of the 48 test questions. This means you agree with the Obama position 54% of the time.”

  • You’d have to blind not to see the bias in that “survey”.

    Like this question:
“Some say Barack Obama’s plans to implement sweeping environmental regulations will raise the cost of gas, groceries, heating and air conditioning. Do you favor or oppose Obama’s environmental plans?”

Those of use who’ve actually studied how to construct unbiased surveys know how laughable that question is.

  • You can still answer the question of “Do you favor or oppose Obama’s environmental plans?”

It’s not going to change the outcome.

  • The main page on the website of this “unbiased” test, which is acting as a mouthpiece for Barack Obama, advertises a book called the “Audacity of Lies” about Barack Obama. I don’t know what planet you’d have to live on to think that this website doesn’t have an anti-Obama agenda.

Not that I think these silly tests are a good way to gauge a candidate’s poistions, but if you like this sort of thing, here in an ABC version of the test. I don’t believe ABC is biased. Or at least they don’t advertise any books called “Obama is a Muslim Terrorist Who Wants to Watch Porn With Your Kindergardner” Or “McCain’s Secret Battle With Alzheimers and Why That Makes Him Eat Children”

    http://abcnews.go.com/politics/MatchoMatic/fullpage?id=5542139

  • Dinosaurs
That was a very good test. Surprisingly I agreed with Obama on One Thing.

And I never said that the website did not have an Anti-Obama agenda, I just thought people may be interested in the test they had there. It’s not like you had to buy the book or anything.

  • Well, let’s start with the blaring advertisement for the book, The Audacity of Deceit, a supposed Obama expose’, which was written by Brad O’Leary who put the test together. Let’s see, what else, oh yes, he is a political fundraiser for conservative republicans. Also the way the test questions are presented are suggestive at best.

Give me a break, if you are going to take a test, take a test that has been prepared by a non-partisan, objective free person or group. Or do some research at factcheck.org or try glassbooth.com, if you’re brave enough.

Oh, and my test score, as the questions were presented, was 68% in agreeance.

  • “Or at least they dont advertise any books called Obama is a Muslim Terrorist Who Wants to Watch Porn With Your Kindergardner Or McCains Secret Battle With Alzheimers and Why That Makes Him Eat Children

LOL Dinosaurs you are my hero!!

  • I only watched a little over half the debate but I agree with the Beet. Tom Brokaw should have had a cow bell. He was getting irritated with both candidates. I may sound cynical but from what I saw, both politicians are liars willing to say or do whatever it takes to get elected. There will be no REAL change because if anyone thinks that a politician actually cares what WE think and need, you are mistaken. Politicians care about what will make them richer and what their legacy will be. I say we elect the person who will amuse us the most for 4 years and let it be.

  • Q: Who won this debate?
A: Neither one of them. However, the American people have surely lost.

The Republicans have totally choked on this one in selecting a 72-year-old man. McCain isn’t vanilla — he’s DIET vanilla. If the GOP party loses in November, they deserve it. In the primaries I supported Mitt Romney. He had 10 times more energy and charisma than McCain, he’s a good looking guy, and most importantly, he has excellent business sense, which is what this country so desperately needs — if now more than ever! Unfortunately, I can’t help but think that the evangelicals, who have way too much influence over this party, made sure to have Romney shot down, as he’s a Mormon (Evangelicals believe them to be “heretics” — nice to see their priorities are straight.). Now it looks like Obama will win, and I’m frankly just not looking forward to a bunch of centralized government policies being implemented that will be so jacked up with bureaucracy, they will end up being much more costly than functional. In a nutshell, we’re so hosed.

  • Of course no one is accusing you of slinging that book, eyes of green. The point is the website is biased, and therefore their test is biased. I’m sure I can look up some super leftie websites with similar biased “tests”. The point is that website, which is blatantly biased, is acting as Obama’s mouthpiece for the answers in the test. That’s why it is not reliable.

I could say “John McCain made an inappropriate rape joke to his Republican colleagues. Do you also support rapists?” See how that could be a bit… misleading…?

That ABC test is a good starting point, but keep staying informed. Cause when we aren’t caring about issues, we’re focused on really nasty character smears, which neither man deserves. When Sarah Palin is out there inciting riots and racist hate speech (like when her supporters yelled “Kill him” about Ayers or Obama; and another supporter yelled a racial epithet at an AA sound guy before telling him to “Sit down, boy”) that’s when I start getting worried. That’s when things get dangerous.

P.S. Please note that I said Sarah was inciting racist hate speech, not delivering it herself. Although she’s walking a fine line these days, and needs to be careful.

  • Here…. I found an unbiased test:

    1. Do you turn your computer on more than you do other people? Y/N

    2. Do you work in a cubicle and often look over the wall to see if your boss is coming? Y/N?

    3. Has it been more than year since you’ve been laid? Y/N

    4. Do you own more than 1 cat or dog and often think it is funny to dress them up in people clothes? Y/N

    5. Do you research things on the internet and then cut and paste them onto a celebrity gossip blog to prove things to people that you don’t know and will never meet? Y/N

If you answered “yes” to any of these questions you may in fact already be a “Grade A Loser”.

  • Here…. I found an unbiased test for you:

You just called Beet a Grade A Loser…

  • @Donkey Punch,

You need to reread your history of McCain and the American POW’s of the Vietnam War. Yes, McCain did get medical treatment once the Vietnamese realized who he was after he was captured. He was also mistreated / tortured subsequent to his initial medical treatment.

You may not think much of his policies / politics, but he went through hell, along with the rest of the POW’s, in the Hanoi Hilton.

  • re; evil beet

hey, look, 100 comments….maybe your readers do have interest in something other than holly madison or whatever her fake name is.

  • That test was full of leading questions! Very biased.. Doesn’t “See if he really has YOUR best interest in mind!!” say it all? All questions were phrased as if Obama’s position on things is a negative, expecially concerning energy policy, taxes and abortion, using words like “manslaughter” and what not.

Anywho.. my result: “You AGREED with the Barack Obama position on 36 of the 48 test questions. This means you agree with the Obama position 75% of the time.” I’m happy with that..

What is it with Americans and fear of taxes?

I live in Denmark myself and the average citizen pay a minimum of 60% in taxes.. I’ve said this before and I will say it again.. This is NOT a bad thing, why are Americans so afraid of taxes?
The government is very capable of spending these money in a profitable way and in the end, the value of your money come back to you tenfold! Here in Denmark, education is FREE, medical care is FREE, we have lots of benifits, given by the state to those in need.
Our taxes is the fundament of our wellfare society and I happily pay my taxes, knowing that if I need to go to the doctor, it won’t cost me a dime, should I go to the hospital, it’s on the state, my further education is free – the state even issues a check to me, along with any other Danish student, each month, so that I don’t even need to work alongside with my studies..
You get so much back and at the same time you help the weak ones in society, who would otherwise be on their own. How can anyone be opposed to this? Don’t you want to help? Don’t you want to know that should you need help, you will get it?

And concerning higher taxes on fossil fuels – yes, naturally it would mean more expensive gas. Of course. This is the point. We need to cut down on the usage of fossil fuels as it is contributing to global warming – higher prices will most deffinately have that effect. Also the higher costs on fossile fuels will create a need for alternative energy sources.. And we DO have the technology and possibility to explore and use other, more environment friendly, energy sources, no question about it.. What is lacking is merely political will to do it. Expensive gas creates a need for alternative energy sources – we need to get away from using fossile fuels, this is a great beginning! (And apart from that, gas is VERY cheap in the states in comparison to Europe, so honestly I don’t see the problem)

Barack Obama is everything the United States needs, everyone in their right mind will wote for Obama.. I have faith that the majority of Americans have a brain and are capable of seeing what is right for this country.

It’s certainly not John McCain – with more of the same, and Sarah Palin, crazy woman, only a heartbeat away from Presidency…

  • i’m going to disagree with dinosaur a little. just because a website is biased, that doesn’t mean the survey is biased. but in this case, the survey sucks…kind of like mccain’s understanding of economics.

  • dinosaur,
you are hilarious! keep us laughing!
my 2 cents on the debate. McCain was VERY condescending to Obama and also the gentleman Oliver that asked the question about the housing issues. Watch it again.
I do love how McCain wouldn’t even shake Obama’s hand. Um, what happens when you meet world leaders and you disagree with them. Is that how you would treat them? Very classy. He proved to many people last night how pompous, arrogant and how much of an asshole he truly is.

  • If it’s a survey clearly written or supported by the folks who run a really biased website, pushing a really biased book, and they want to prove a point about how much Obama blows with their survey, I’d say it was a biased survey. I don’t think that’s being presumptuous. It wasn’t like they had a link to a survey they liked. The questions and answers were both loaded by the dolts who created the website who were cyber-fellating the dolts who wrote the book.

But this is just getting boring. All this survey talk. The fun part is that McCain looked like a sick old gnome creeping around behind Obama when the camera was on him. I kept wanting to be like “Obama, look out! The crypt keeper is right behind you!”

Gotta have some fun when the country is in serious trouble. I do, however, really trust that we could land on our feet with a great mind leading us. Obama’s got a great mind, and I sure hope he can lead us out of this when he becomes POTUS.

  • @Chuck,

“You may not think much of his policies / politics, but he went through hell, along with the rest of the POW’s, in the Hanoi Hilton.”

I have to agree with you. He is a very respected person for not leaving him men behind and going though such horrible torture. On the other hand, this fact should have nothing to do with the campaign. It doesn’t say anything about his views or policies. Sure, it tells you about his view on war but there’s so much more to being a president. Being a good man doesn’t make you a great leader. Its just one of the many requirements.

  • I’ve decided that if obama loses, me and the rest of his canadian fan club are going to try to talk him into running canada. we’ll even make him king, i think we’re all a bit bored of having the queen on our money.
