Today's Evil Beet Gossip

Hooray for Brad Pitt

Papa Pitt has donated $100K to the fight against California’s Prop 8, which aims to overturn the Supreme Court decision making same-sex marriage legal in the state.

“Because no one has the right to deny another their life, even though they disagree with it, because everyone has the right to live the life they so desire if it doesn’t harm another and because discrimination has no place in America, my vote will be for equality and against Proposition 8,” Brad said Wednesday.

More than just donating money, Brad’s helping to draw attention to this proposition, which has gotten sort of lost amidst all the Presidential hoopla. But it’s on the ballot and it’s IMPORTANT.

Californians, get your asses to the polls and vote AGAINST this hateful BULLSHIT. Hopefully this proposition will be defeated by a landslide and send a strong message that at least some parts of this country believe that all people should have, ya know, equal rights.

  • I totally just wrote up something about this as 1 of my writing samples for you Beet!

    hehe!

(I would like to point out, mine was done first :-p )

  • I love the Jolie-Pitts! They donate so much to great causes and they seem to be a great, loving family. To all of you who say it’s a tax write off-it may be but do you see any other Hollywood type rich give anything close to what they give? Last year alone they jointly gave over 8 million $’s.

  • @just me. You are so right- who cares if it’s a tax write off. It surely is, but the cause is good as is any charity would be.

  • Yes! While polls are not favorable to this Prop passing, reportedly Mormons are doing a lot of fundraising and GOTV work in support for Prop 8. Get to the polls and vote NO!

  • I would rather live next door to someone who is “married” and happy with their spouse then someone who is just tryng to “fit in” with the social norm. Not everyone agrees with my lifestyle (smoker) but their opinions are none of my business and happy people are just funner to be around

  • Apparently Brad and Ange aren’t getting married themselves either till it is an option available to one and all.
Which is great, unfortunately one nuff nuff I could name is now using this as an excuse not to get married and take the moral high ground!

  • Agree, agree, agree. Now let’s dish on the suit. Brad is totally rocking his inner pimp. The past few photos have shown his love for that sansabelt waist.

  • Reality 101: Marriage and gay-marriage will *NEVER BE EQUAL.* Gay-marriages will always be less valued by society because only a traditional marriage has the ability to create new life by itself. The is a concept beyond the great thinkers of our backwards liberal age. California’s dumb law does not a marriage make. The demographics of civil unions take care of themselves, and while adoption is an option, there is a limited pool from which civil unions can grow. Thank goodness silly backwards civil unions are capped.

All together now: GAY CIVIL UNIONS ARE TODAY AND WILL ALWAYS BE LESS VALUABLE THAN TRADITIONAL MARRIAGE.

In this world neither life nor death nor love are *FAIR*. To believe otherwise is to slip into fantasy (denial). Fine if you know what you’re doing but by all means stay in your padded room.

Brad is exceedingly dumb, yet it’s par for the celebrity course. Bravo.

  • Yeah right…

You know Pitt did the math… by 2015 he will have fucked every women in the world two times over and by then might need to bang a couple of dudes. He’s just keeping his options open.

  • Way to go Brad…well said! And I’m really liking the suit; first guy I saw that wasn’t 6’9” and in the NBA that could pull off a ‘dusty peach’ suit.

  • Technically, people do have, you know, equal rights. No one is stopping anyone from marrying someone of the opposite sex, therefore, no one is stopping anyone from getting married. However, I agree that constitutional bans on private issues are appalling.

He either needs to lose the suit or always have a cigar on hand to complete the Cuban outfit.

  • It’s like he gave a bum a pack of ciggy’s so he would go away. Tax deductable and keeps the paps and raving reporters away.

  • AlmostChosen, take the finger you so love to point at others and point it at yourself. YOU are exceedingly dumb. Get away from your mother’s computer, get back in bed, take your meds and go drool on your pillow some more.

  • If you want to be together it is a civil union with all the rights of marriage. Marriage is between man and a women.

  • Although many people do not agree
my opinion is similar to AlmostChosen’s.
Society won’t look at these unions with the same eyes,
    for many different reasons.
If one wants to live an homosexual union
one has to be coherent, at least,
and, for instance, a homosexual couple cannot produce offspring,
hence, adopting is not a coherent attitude,
having children with surrogate moms or donor sperm neither
by logical standards,no matter how unfit for breeding
and disfunctional many heterosexual unions may be.

  • Even if Prop 8 does pass, my wife and I will still consider ourselves married. No matter what, they can’t take our marriage certificate away. :)

  • Is marriage really still just about having children?? Come on guys, we can redefine the words marriage and family since we were the ones to give them meaning anyway. I have hetero friends who can’t have children and will need to adopt – is their’s not a marriage then?

And, Brad totally looks like a pimp. He goatee is nasty. He hasn’t looked as hot as he used to in a long time.
