CONTEST: New HBO Show, “Life and Times of Tim”

Okay, guys, this is a fun contest with some awesome prizes.

We’re helping HBO get the word out about their new show, The Life and Times of Tim, an animated show about a dude who always seems to end up in awkward situations. For a sense of what I’m talking about, click here and here to watch clips or click here for the show’s website. It’s kind of got a South Park feel to it, it seems like, but with adults.

Now here are the super-killer prize packages:

Grand Prize Winner:

Curb Your Enthusiasm – The Complete Sixth Season on DVD
Extras – The Complete Second Season on DVD
Flight Of The Conchords – The Complete First Season on DVD
“The Life & Times of Tim” limited edition Mimobot flash drive
•Includes “Life & Times of Tim” icons, avatars, wallpaper, and 9 videos
“The Life & Times of Tim” poster and postcards

TWO Runners Up:

“The Life & Times of Tim” limited edition Mimobot flash drive
•Includes “Life & Times of Tim” icons, avatars, wallpaper, and 9 videos
“The Life & Times of Tim” poster and postcards

How do you win?

Send an email to me describing the most awkward situation you’ve been in. Let’s try to keep it to 1000 words or less, but you can go over if it’s necessary. (You can also use much fewer words if that’s all it takes.) Send the email to evilbeet@gmail.com, and the subject line should be “Life and Times of Tim Contest.” Deadline for entry is this Friday at 11:59 pm. I’ll choose the winners, based on how amused I am by their entries, and announce them early next week.

  • My most awkward moment was when cool people caught me watching “Curb your Enthusiasm” and “Flight of the cancorn” …and I couldn’t get laid for a year.

  • let me get this straight. we give them ideas for potential scripts based on uncomfortable situations we’ve been in, so their talentless writers don’t have to come up with ideas of their own. and then for that we might get paid with some lameass dvd’s that effectively cost the studio zilch. and in the meantime the writers get paid a bundle and win emmys off of our ideas and become even more sought after.

    shit, babe, count me in!!!

  • @censorthis:

Actually, I chose the contest topic, not HBO. They always leave this stuff up to the blogger. So this has nothing to do with the writers trying to steal your ideas. I just thought it would be a funny and apropos topic. All they’re trying to do is promote their show, not get new script ideas.

  • LOL@ this thread!
i was going to take the time out of my day and write and to you beet, however after watching the snippet of the show, it looks s*** and i would not like to support and/or be a part of this! but have fun with that one guys!

  • @klm, it looks way more than stupid. They even know how to make a cartoon character to move natural? Like how is in family guy. They sure know.

  • I know this is a little bit of a late comment, but I just wanted to say that I absolutely adore “LaToT” (why yes, that’s what the cool kids are calling it). This so is so smart. It’s the driest humor I’ve seen on television in a while. Although it’s a risk, in my opinion, to pair it with animation that would turn most people off, I think the script and the animation are what MAKE this show. I hope it comes back for another season. My real-life friend Tim (and plenty of others) agrees.
