The entire Tyra-as-Michelle-Obama spread in Harper’s Bazaar has been released.
I’ll be honest: I’ve looked at this from quite a few angles, and I just don’t know what to make of it. Is this a cool thing? Is this a dumb thing? Is this a poignant thing? Or does it fall flat? Does it minimize the work Michelle Obama’s done? Or does it honor it? I really don’t know how I feel. So I’m gonna do what I do best: look at photos, decide which ones I like, and then post them here for you guys to look at too. I can’t go wrong that way.
If you’re one of those “reader” types, the full article is here.
A U.S. woman received five puppies Tuesday that were cloned from her beloved late pitbull, becoming the inaugural customer of a South Korean company that says it is the world’s first successful commercial canine cloning service.
Seoul-based RNL Bio said the clones of Bernann McKinney’s dog Booger were born last week after being cloned in cooperation with a team of Seoul National University scientists who created the world’s first cloned dog in 2005.
“It’s a miracle!” McKinney repeatedly shouted Tuesday when she saw the cloned Boogers for which she paid $50,000. “Yes, I know you! You know me, too!” McKinney said joyfully, hugging the puppies, which were sleeping with one of their two surrogate mothers, both Korean mixed breed dogs.
This woman had apparently tried to have her pitbull cloned earlier by U.S.-based Genetics Savings and Clone, but the company shut down due to lack of demand in late 2006. Um. Read that again. The company’s name is “Genetics Savings and Clone.” I feel like I’m living in an episode of The Simpsons.
Dog cloning’s not cheap, though. Currently, the company is charging around $150,000 for a dog clone. But trust me, Leo is totally worth it!!! I want to clone like eight different Leos and have them all sleep in my bed with me. It would be so awesome!!
BTW, these are new pics of Leo in his new adorable little shirt that says “ROCKSTAR.”
Thanks Trisha!
Word on the street is that Lindsay Lohan was drinking under the table — literally — at Mark Ronson’s recent gig in Chicago.
Mark Ronson had two women at his feet during his deejay gig at the Hard Rock Hotel Chicago: his sister Samantha and her girlfriend, Lindsay Lohan. During Mark’s set, the cuddly twosome sat underneath a table near his feet and had waiters bring them drinks. When they did come out of hiding, Sam – who opened for Mark at the Mextromix.com’s Music Lounge Rock the Vote Nights event – was “constantly texting with Lindsay, even though Lindsay was seated on the stage near her,” laughed a witness. “They’d text and giggle and just stare at each other.”
Hee hee. My roommate and I used to do that. Not the drinking under the table thing, the texting someone who’s sitting right next to you thing. We’d sit on the couch, watching television, with our laptops across our laps, and occasionally have IM conversations like this:
Me: This commercial is stupid.
Her: You’re stupid.
Me: Are you going to clean up that cereal bowl you just left on the table?
Her: Not now, I’m busy.
Me: Doing what?
Her: IMing with somebody.
It was so awesome. So I totally get this.
Anyway, La Lohan and Samantha are currently staying at the Delano in Miami, where Lindsay’s getting to spend some time with Samantha’s family. “Lindsay and Sam were very comfortable with the group around. You can tell they’re so in love,” said a source who saw the couple hanging out with the rest of the Ronson clan. “Lindsay seemed to really fit in. It seemed like everyone really likes her.”
I am so saddend by this. I grew up singing her songs and at 12 I really thought I was great at it. She couldn’t shake her demons and now she is gone way to soon. I hope her daughter can avoid the same road. I wasn’t really...
I still question if she actually had the baby, or not. However, its obvious these were shopped and taken professionally. I don’t think they were right after birth, but I also wouldn’t doubt that Beyonce had a team there to do her...
Oh my goodness, I feel the same way! Love Roseanne. I’ve seen that series finale at least a hundred times over the years and only recently “got” that ending. I cried as well!
