Today's Evil Beet Gossip

You Guys, I Made the Most Awesome Video Ever

I FINALLY had my camera near me when Leo and my cat Max got into one of their infamous battles. And, listen, I cropped out a LOT of the footage. I filmed them fighting for a full five minutes before Leo finally got bored and ran off. I just think this is the funniest shit ever. And you guys have been asking for new pics of Leo, so hopefully this tides you over.

Also, mad mad mad props to Laremy at Film.com, who was able to correctly come up with the band and name of this song when I sent him a text that said only “What’s the name of that Irish song from movies? That sounds angry?” Now that is someone who knows his shit. For anyone who cares, the band is Dropkick Murphys and the song is “Shipping up to Boston.”

I am amazingly proud of this video. I plan to submit it for Oscar consideration. I’m taking out a full-page ad in Variety later this year. That’s how much faith I have in it.

  • I love how Leo annoys Max for ages, jumping around and getting in his face, before Max finally just pins him with one paw – do not mess with cats.

  • Beet, I am dying laughing. I am always asking you for pics of Leo and the cats, but you have outdone yourself this time. Even though I am a Leo fan, I have to admit that I think Max put the smack down. I am going to be laughing all day. Thanks Beet!

  • Three cheers for the cat…that is one incredibly patient cat. Most cats I know would have put Leo under manners & there’d have been blood. Hey, don’t forget The Pogues when you’re searching for rousing Irish rock.

  • THIS IS THE *FUNNIEST*THING*EVER*
Thanks for posting it, Beet! It made my morning (together with my coffee)

  • Ha ha that is so cute. The look on your cats face is like: “what is this thing doing biting me?” and looks totally bored, but you can tell that she plays with him for what looks like out of “generosity” to Leo, when really I think the cat wants to play too.

My cats do this all the time. They will wrestle all over the house, and then you hear this yelp from my kitten and then both of them bolt all over the apartment and find another spot and do it again. Its a vicious circle. And very cute.

  • leo is getting so big.

and i feel like you coaxed them into that fight. for entertainment purposes. shame on you…lol

  • I love Max!!! He’s like the patient uncle playing with his rambunctious nephew. And it goes without saying (but I’ll say it anyway) that Leo is the cutest freakin’ doggie I’ve ever seen!

  • OMG that was sooo funny! I loved it. You can tell they both enjoy playing together, both tails are wagging the entire time!

  • My puppy does the same thing with my older dog, the play the same way and some time the big dog is sleeping the puppy comes out of no where an jumps on top of his head lol!!!!

  • that is funny shit! my two dogs wrestle together and it always cracks me up. animals are hilarious.

  • I repeated the second paragraph to my boyfriend leaving out the song name and title and he goes “Is it shipping up to boston by the dropkick murphy’s?”
    I’m proud.

  • I love that song. It was on my Myspace for ages.

But really, if Leo goes missing, I definitely did not steal him because of his awesome cuteness.

  • They are sooo cute! I have a mini-doxie named P.J. (long story as to how she got that name for another time). And my cat is Baby. They play like this all the time and it’s hilarious! Then every night about 9:00 Baby gives P.J. a bath. So sweet! I love pets. Leo and P.J. would make an adorable couple. Keep the videos and pics coming,Beet.

  • Fantastic! loved it

I love it around 1:27 and they both stop, look and are like “what??? we’re not DOING anything!!?”

  • lmfao, writing from boston here, love how you have the drop kick murphys on there, i also love how your cat is too patient with ur dog, knowing the whole time it could kick that dogs ass, it just kind of deals with the dog wanting to play. its a great display of the differences between cat and dog personality.

  • To anyone who posted about how funny that video was your sense of comedy is probably comparable to that of a civil servant or an accountant and my guess is that you wear lots of exciting brown coloured clothing.
