The Early Reviews Are In: Dark Knight Is a Hit!

If the early reviews are to be believed, The Dark Knight will be an overwhelming success when it hits theaters July 18.

According to the Hollywood Reporter:

“The Dark Knight” is pure adrenaline. Director Christopher Nolan, having dispensed with the introspective, moody origin story of 2005’s “Batman Begins,” now puts the Caped Crusader through a decathlon of explosions, vehicle flips, hand-to-hand combat, midair rescues and pulse-pounding suspense.

And as for Heath Ledger’s final performance:

Ledger’s performance is a beauty. His Joker has a slow cadence of speech, as if weighing words for maximum mischief and contempt. He moves languidly as if to savor his dark deeds, his head and body jerking at times from an overload of brain impulses.

Oooooh, I can’t wait!

  • I’ve heard nothing but awesome things from people who’ve seen sneak previews. I’m so ridiculously excited it’s kind of laughable.

  • I’m so excited to see this, and I have no idea why. I’ve watched a batman movie probably once in my life. I wasn’t like a huge fan of Heath. But it really does look amazing, and I’m not gonna miss that midnight premiere for anything. Haha

  • Soooooo excited to see this! And I think that MW should go fuck themselves for what they said-ROT IN HELL!!!

  • No it doesnt make you a saint but its disrespectful to trash talk someone who has died

  • You wouldn’t care if I trash talked Hitler, or any number of people who are dead who don’t deserve respect. Your argument that anyone dead deserves respect is BUNK. Why should Heath get my respect? Because he was an actor? Because he was in good movies? Sorry, but that doesn’t change the fact that this guy threw his life away using drugs. It may comfort you to think that he was some kind of prodigy or amazing father, but in my opinion he was neither. He may have loved his child, but that doesn’t make you a great dad. Especially when you spend most of your time miles away from your child in a foreign country using drugs. I refuse to revere someone just for being attractive and talented. He wasted that, and for that reason, I do not respect him, and I am totally entitled to my opinion, thank you very much.

  • christian bale is kinda getting the shaft again- first the limelight got stolen when promoting batman begins because tom and katie had just gotten together (so they got all the red carpet attention) and now it being heath’s last movie that’s all everyone is talking about. though christian himself had only great things to say about heath’s performance. . .
