Mary-Kate Olsen Scores Guest Role on Samantha Who

While her twin sister is busy porking Justin Bartha and looking fabulous on red carpets, Mary-Kate is busy … well … actually working.

Mary-Kate — who recently won over audiences with an extended guest spot on Weeds — just spent two days on the set of Samantha Who, where she plays — you guessed it! — a “self-destructive bad girl.”

“She showed up alone, ready to work, is great on set and is serious about the job,” says the show’s executive producer. “This is a girl who’s been in front of the camera almost literally her entire life. She’s smart, and she knows what she’s doing.”

You know, I have to admit I’m kind of rooting for Mary-Kate. It would be nice to see her make the transition into a respected adult actress.

  • I used to like MK, but she’s been looking gross and dirty in the past few years. The pics of MK on the escalator at LAX showed black fingernails. Her hair looks like a rat’s nest. I really liked her in “New York Minute.”

  • I used to love them. ESPECIALLY M-K, whom I view as the more tolerable and attractive twin, by far.

They need to lay off the fur, though. They’re each approaching a flagrant Sharon Stone/J-Lo territory, and they’re also part of a much more liberal generation. Younguns who’ve grown up around pets and notions of animal rights aren’t gonna put up with purses made out of ponies and shoes constructed from beaver skins or some shit. Lord knows they’re not the greatest thespians, so they’d better start trying to charm us, somehow.

  • i love m-k too. and i think i commented the other day- she makes out with ben kingsley in an upcoming movie!!! i think that is awesome, if rather gross. plus he is an oscar winner so maybe some of it transferred onto her.

  • I HATED her on Weeds. I thought she was wooden and completely unwatchable, and I love that show otherwise. Samantha Who? is another of my favorite things on TV, and this news makes me very sad. I guess the silver lining is that, unlike with Weeds, it looks like she’ll only be in a single Samantha Who? episode. I think she’s a horrible actress. You’d think for someone with so much on-camera experience, literally since infancy, she’d be able to not look as if she were reading from cue cards the entire time.
