Today's Evil Beet Gossip

Whoops!

Although Sarah Jessica Parker was assured the dress she wore to the Sex and the City NYC premiere had not been worn publicly by anyone else, that turned out to not be true at all.

The Nina Ricci gown designed by Olivier Theyskens had been worn by socialite Lauren Santo Domingo at the Met ball less than a month earlier, and Lindsay Lohan wore it for a Harper’s Bazaar shoot.

Gasp!

Says Sarah:

“In the big picture, this is not important, but there is a relationship between the entertainment industry and fashion,” Parker said on Thursday evening, adding. “We’ve watched sales dwindle and we’ve watched people be less inclined to spend money on clothes.” To Parker, these are reasons for companies to take particular care with their relationships. “Look, my affection for the dress hasn’t changed,” she said, “but what they did was so short-sighted. It’s just unethical and disappointing that they would allow the dress to be worn again.”

  • It’s a fabulous dress, and it’s not like I ever saw the other two wear it. SJP is pretty tactful, good for her.

  • I don’t even like it.
But if she does, it shouldn’t matter if anyone else wore it. Really.

  • what an ignorant person. does it really matter in the grand scheme of things? seriously, there’s a lot more to worry about than a fucking dress being worn more than once. get over yourself sjp. its a peice of clothing… do you not understand how dumb you sound ranting a raving about it. most of the public doesnt even give a shit if it has been worn a million times. most people couldnt even afford it, so consider yourself lucky you brat.

  • by the way, unethical? hahaha wow. its a dress. ill tell you whats unethical, all the starving children around the world dying every second.

  • I abHOR SJPeePee but if I was A-list(ish) like her, I would be fucking PISSED!! First of all, the first person to wear it was Rehab Alum LezLo only to re-appear on the likes of a lame ass celebutant. Athough she had a brand new crispy gown on, it already wreaked of that talentless-hasbeen aroma.

    Team SJP! lol

  • It probably cost more than my car to create and shes shitty it was worn twice before? I’d be wearing it whilst scrubbing my floors to get its wear.

  • I think it shows just what is REALLY important to celebrities. Like there aren’t other things in life more life shattering than some stupid dress being seen on other people before her. What a foolish woman she is! She says that with the decline in people buying clothes, designers have to foster a good relationship with the client. Newsflash- celebrities rarely, if ever, pay for a fucking thing! They get freebies all of the time. It’s people like us who are buying, not SJP, so she and her ignorant rant can FUCK OFF!

  • i think the main point was the designer lying to her about it. saying no one else had worn it. that was the unethical part.

  • Given the magnitude of the show, and now the movie…if anyone has seen or even heard of Sex And The City, they’d know that her character is a SERIOUS FASHIONISTA!!!! Why would anyone representing that title or image want to show up to their OWN premiere wearing something that someone ALREADY WORE!?!?!? As Alicia (above) stated, the dress had already dawned on the ‘likes’ of a rehab lovin fire crotch lezlo. Um ew.
None the less, she STILL looks stunning…as per usual!

    YAY SJP!!!!

  • Some chick summed it up, Sarah Jessica Parker has established herself and created a reputation on being a fashionista so she has every right to be pissed. Hell, I’d be pissed.

Of the three, she wore it best. I never thought someone else could make SJP not look scrawny.

  • @jnz: she prefaced her remarks by saying “In the big picture this is not important” so I’m confident she doesn’t equate her situation with that of starving children. Some interviewer probably asked her to comment and this was her rather level-headed response. It’s hardly ranting and raving–for a good example of that, re-read your own post.
