Today's Evil Beet Gossip

Happy Memorial Day!

It’s super exciting to have the day off from work and all the varied stresses that come along with following Lindsay Lohan’s every Sapphic move — I’m on my way out to meet a friend for brunch and then watch the Jon & Kate Plus 8 marathon on my DVR for the remainder of the day — but let’s take a second and remember all the lives that were lost so that we could have a Monday off from work.

Seriously, though, while you’re out there getting wasted, or laying on the beach, or BBQ-ing, or watching TV, or shopping, or whatever, keep in mind what this holiday is about in the first place.

Thank you to all who risked and lost their lives in service to their country.

  • Dear Evil,

Happy memorial day to you too. Listen Gregg Plitt has been everywhere this weekend. I signed up for the Spike TV CSI Marathon and GP showed up in some bowflex commercial. And yesterday, I was watching TLC and GP was a carpenter in another remodeling show.. What’s going on with GP?? Is he a reality tv junkie (like me, but I watch.. he acts).. Any ways, I just wanted to give you all the info on your future hubby.

  • You’re totally right-everyone forgets why we’re able to be out celebrating today like we do. THANK YOU!!!!!!! to all of the service people & a big Thank You to my Dad who was in Vietnam & is still affected from it every day. ♥

And it’s Jon & Kate for me today too! YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! :)

  • Here is to Pat Tillman who was killed when American soldiers were firing at anything that moved in Afghanistan. They were shooting into apartment buildings that housed women and children. They were even shooting at fellow soldiers waving at them from the side of the road. They even almost hit another convoy that day.

God bless the American soldier for killing everything in sight (including each other).

  • However much respect to all soldiers that fought in wars that were not based on lies and didn’t murder innocent civilians for kicks. Thanks to anyone who risk their lives to preserve more lives.

  • Donkey Punch, I really think you crossed the line with that first post. A little too much immaturity with that last sentence. Anyways- Thank you to every troop, never been over seas or not, you are greatly appreciated.

  • I’d just like to say, thanks to everyone who is overseas right now, all my shipmates and fellow marines, be safe, fair winds and following seas. Ooh Rah! lol that was soooooooooooo lame!
