@Elaine: You just reminded me of something I did as a kid–I have a slight widow’s peak and when I was in grade school I took a sudden dislike to it. I thought it looked weird. So I shaved it off (or maybe just cut it as short as I could with scissors; can’t remember). Of course it looked even weirder growing back in, especially on a long-haired girl without bangs! My first hairstyle faux pas.
