You know one thing I love about Mariah? She’s almost always smiling in her photographs, looking like she’s having fun, not giving the camera some angry pout or serious face, like all the young female celebrities these days. It’s endearing.
Meanwhile, Vibe’s associate editor is busy talking about the chemistry (or lack thereof) she saw between Nick and Mariah when she met up with MC to do the interview. Says Shanel Odum:
I was on the resort island of Jumby Bay; it is an island in the West Indies. Mariah was celebrating her 38th birthday there. She rented out this huge villa that was $12, 500 a night – gorgeous lay-out right on the edge of the Caribbean ocean, and she invited a handful of her closest friends and associates to help bring in her birthday.
The couple of guests that I saw there were Da Brat and Nick Cannon. I’d heard rumors that Nick Cannon was supposed to play her love interest in the video. They did a little candid photo shoot to make it seem like they were kissy–poo-poo. It was almost like they were trying to build the picture that maybe they were canoodling in real life. Like, really, it’s a cute idea, but I didn’t believe it for one second. I didn’t feel it was genuine. I believe that maybe Nick had a crush on her.
[Carey is] very over-the-top, flirtatious with the world. But I didn’t see any chemistry between the two of them at all. I didn’t see energy. I didn’t see any flirtation.
I’m a little bit skeptical about it. But of course, I can’t say anything for certain—I left before anyone went to the bed. I really felt like it was a cute publicity thing—just part of the video. Tabloid coverage is still promotion. Never a bad thing when you drop an album or movie. If I’d witnessed anything juicy while I was there, I would have it at least hinted at in my story.

This self involved bitch is all about airbrushing. I’m shocked she even married, sh eloves herself so much. So much for Nick’s life. It’s all about Mariah.

Okay, she is majorly airbrushed here. Just compare with how she looks recently in those tacky, too-short, too-tight dresses with the mini jacket she’s ALWAYS rocking – i.e. the 80’s Jersey mall tramp uniform. She has some kickin’ real woman curves. These fake pix make her look like Heidi Montag.
I think that Mariah is a true exhibitionist and that she may actually get off on teasing men with her near nudity. I would love to have just twenty four hours with her naked ass in bed. It would take at least that long to explore most of the possbilities.
She looks like she’s always sucking in or trying to stay “tight” in her abs. She also looks skinny when she stretches while she’s laying down (i’ve noticed this is another one of her tricks)—still can’t stand her!
Mariah takes the slogan ‘Have a coke a smile’ way too literally.

First of all: Mariah was never chunky or fat. Mariah over the last 5 – 6yrs has looked so much better than she did when she first came on this scene. Mariah has a lot of Tits and Ass. And there is nothing wrong with that. I think a women show always be curvy and sexy and to me… that is how she has been looking for quite a while now. The problem is media. Everybody wants these women to fit the Paris Hilton-Skinny-Stickly look in order to sell records. Who says you have to be a size 2 to be sexy? Now I’m not saying you should be a size 22, but damn! Whats wrong with a 6, 8, or 10.? Look at how Beyonce’ keeps loosing weight. The girl has hips and ass. Get over it people. Black Women are naturally curvey around the hips and ass. its not that serious. Who the hell wants someone with no butt?
I’m wondering if Shaun thinks that Mariah was proud of being part black? She picks her moments, hun. I’m a proud black woman, and if she has embrased her “people”, it must have been recently in the form of Nick Cannon.
