Iron Man Kicks Some Box Office Ass

Despite well-publicized concerns that its audience was going to be home playing the new Grand Theft Auto game rather than going to the movies, Iron Man killed it at the box office this weekend.

The film is expected to bring in around $104.3 million this weekend — not quite Aquaman numbers, but enough to put it in front of the openings of almost all other comic book films ever.

It’s the 10th biggest movie opening in history.

I guess you guys really liked Gwyneth Paltrow’s legs.

  • It was Gwen’s Legs that brought me Cor a Looker out of her hidey hole and into the theather. Good God. And throught half the movie she was wearing these DROOL WORTHY heels that had me staring at them wishing I had a decent job that would pay me enough to buy those shoes. They screamed “SEX! But I’m a good girl…..but.. SEX!!!” I want them badly. There should really be a imdb for the shoes worn in all movies. Get SJP on that shit please.

  • Yeah, I saw it on Friday and it was really good for opening the summer blockbuster season.

And yes, her shoes were amazing as was that suit she was running around in. I loved her ringlet hair style in the office scene, too.

  • We’ve been playing GTA. My husband hasn’t even been watching the hockey play-offs so I don’t think I have a hope in getting him out to watch a movie. That’s why we saw Forgetting Sarah Marshall last weekend. I think ahead.

  • Forget Gwyneth’s legs–you should see RDJ’s deltoids (or whatever that muscley part on top of the shoulders is). NICE…

  • Aquaman’s numbers? Please tell me you are fan of Entourage and aren’t making the same mistake some media types made.

  • this movie looks amazingly lame. i can’t think of any reason that would make me want to see it. yeah yeah, awesome effects, yadda yadda…..

  • Iron Man was practically flawless as a super hero flick; it drops pretty obvious hints that would indicate a sequel as well… i’m thinking the next one should be equally great
