I’m really torn on this issue, and I want to hear opinions from you guys.
Lisa Loeb is wearing the same dorky glasses she wore at the beginning of her career.

On one hand, in a world where celebrities seem obsessed with constantly reinventing themselves, it’s kind of refreshing to see someone sticking to the same schtick for 15 years.
On the other hand, Jesus fucking Christ, is anyone else soooo sick of those glasses?
they aren’t the same. they have the same look to them, but the newer ones have more of a round shape to them….
they’re not the same at all; the new ones are way more flattering.
They arent the same, however…. I like her glasses,she’s kind of hot …in a geeky kind of way…..

The newer ones are updated but still cool. I think it’s great that she’s stuck with a trademark for so long without letting it get dated and stale. Plus the new glasses and bangs are almost exactly the same as mine, so I’m obligated to praise them.
I kinda dig her originality. As geeky as she may be at least she isn’t all botoxed and siliconed up with her shirt cut down to her navel and her shorts smaller than my 2 year olds (that was a Heidi Montag reference).
They’re ok. She was rockin them well before they became popular again…it’s sorta her thing. They don’t look bad on her, and she’s a cute TX gal, so bully.

Lasik? Schtick is the first thing that comes to mind. Is she still single?
Some artists stick with a gimmick because it’s what they were “known” for and their careers suffer if they try to break from it. When people are extremely recognizable for one thing, they become mundane and invisible when that thing is removed. I don’t know why but my brain is suddenly leaping to think of George Michael’s stubble. Everytime he goes cleanshaven it looks wrong…even though we’re tired of seeing him as he always was. Catch-22.
I loooove the glasses…she’s the hot geek I’ve always wanted. Like in 80’s and 90’s movies when the “outcast”(eg. Winona Ryder or Ali Larter in “Drive Me Crazy”…come on!!!) was just as hot, if not hotter, than the object of some dude’s affection, Lisa Loeb is much hotter than other chicks who try a little to hard to be sexy.
She can keep wearing them forever!
i thought about this question. and i looked at the picture of lisa, and i think that if you took away the glasses, i truly might have a hard time identifying her. i would probably think “mmm, that chick looks familiar, but i can’t place her.”
…maybe that’s just me though.

i’m tired of the glasses. and i think when beet said “same glasses” she meant “same type”.
That’s what she’s known for. Would any of us HONESTLY recognize her so quickly if she wasn’t wearing them??

I saw a couple episodes of her show … something about dating? Anyhoo .. she was so cute .. I wanted to fix her up with my brother.

But seriously, she shouldn’t ditch the glasses, they’re her trademark. It makes about as much sense as her ditching the guitar and doing dance tracks instead of singer-songwriter folk.
Besides, if she ditches the glasses, it’ll be like Jennifer Grey. Remember Jennifer Grey from Dirty Dancing and Ferris Beuller’s Day Off? She had a crooked nose and went and got it fixed. Problem was, after she got it fixed, no one recognized her anymore. I think if Lisa Loeb started wearing contacts, the same thing would happen.
She hasn’t been relevant since Reality Bites, and she was letting Ethan Hawke stick it to her. She needs to reinvent herself already, because what she is doing is not working.
Although, I really enjoyed her reality show a few years ago. She should do what Taylor Dayne did and go on Tv and change her look; without the surgery though.

I think the glasses look ok. I think she’d look a lot better in pewter wireframes; either rounded or oval would look cool.
I imagine she’s wearing what she had to wear since she was little as her eyesight is so bad. She could get better glasses these days but might be used to the old ones.
I think she’s cute, cute, cute as a button! She is who she is and I applaud that. She’s not some fake Barbie cutout, but she doesn’t seem like she tries too hard to be different, either. Adorable.

Hey now! I have glasses like that, and I’m forever getting compliments on them. Maybe we nerds out in corn country don’t know the latest trend in eyewear (big, fucking ugly eighties garbage), but we rock the shit. And so does Lisa.
However, those tortoise shell ones aren’t quite cutting it. Then again, it was 1993. People purposely ripped huge holes in their jeans, wore flannel, and kicked up the heroin craze once again.

The glasses have become her trademark. They aren’t the same but the similarity has really become part of her. I don’t think she would look right without them. It would be kind of like Batman without his cape.
Lisa Loeb is a talented performer and I love the fact that she is original and herself….Her glasses makes her and she looks great in them.
The glasses were hot back then, and she seems to keep up with the times, and looks hot now. As others have also said, they’ve become her trademark. Anyway, girls with glasses are hot, if you haven’t heard. It’s become more known since the Internet became common place in the late 90s.
I saw her in concert last and I was soooooooooooooo disappointed She was arrogant, condesending , full of her self and btter that her song Truthfully was not used in the movei “one fine day”

I LOVE Lisa Loeb’s glasses. Indeed, they are not exactly the same, but with the same cat eye frame.
I commend her for holding onto what she is both comfortable with and what brought her to the dance.
