Carmelo was arrested on suspicion of DUI around 4 am on Monday morning, for weaving and driving with his high-beams on. He agreed to let cops take a blood sample, the results of which will be available after two weeks, at which point this whole thing will be a non-story. Smart guy.
The arrest came just hours after he played his worst game of the season.
He was processed at Denver police HQ and then released, because Denver cops don’t jail DUI suspects. Dayum. Denver just became a whole lot more attractive.
A statement released by Carmelo’s attorney reads: “He regrets putting himself in this situation. Carmelo apologizes to his fans, the Denver community, his teammates and the Denver Nuggets organization for the distraction this is causing them.”
