When I heard all the comments, I thought about the times I have been in a court house (due to jury duty, my own unusual traffic citations, as am expert witness, etc.), and what I recall is that everyone was diverted from jail time. It seems to me few drivers would be incarcerated due to the same offense. All one hears in the courts is, “there are too many serious offenders and few facilities. We just can put offenders in jail except to protect the public”, referring to people who committed violent crimes.
I think she is getting a more severe punishment than the average citizen. Even though my lifestyle has never resembled Paris’, I think is good for people to see someone with a smashing wordrobe. Those who can afford it should feel inspired, not envious. I think various factors contribute to this confused sentence.
