Janice Dickinson Rocks

The former ANTM judge and owner of the Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency weighs in on the “skinny model” debate:

“I’m dying to find kids who are too thin. I’ve got 42 models in my agency and I’m trying to get them to lose weight. In fact, I wish they’d come down with some anorexia.” When you laugh at such politically incorrect statements, Dickinson yells back, “I’m not kidding. I’m running into a bunch of fat-assed, lazy little bitches who don’t know how to do the stairs or get their butts into the gym … Models are supposed to be thin. They’re not supposed to eat. In fact, I’m not going to eat for the rest of the day because we had this conversation.”

As awful as it is, I often agree with Janice, and I’m glad they still make folks like her. I know, I know. I’m a horrible person, and I’ve come to terms with that, but has anyone else noticed that bigger models just don’t carry the clothes as well as the ultra-skinny ones? And I’m not talking plus-size models, I’m talking girls with, like, a BMI of 20. It just doesn’t look as hot as some BMI 17 chick waltzing down the catwalk. There’s a reason models are ridiculously thin! It looks glamorous and unattainable and otherworldly! It makes you want to buy the clothes! I don’t think ultra-thin is very sexy off the catwalk, but anyone who thinks an average normal-weight girl is going to sell a dress as well as a super-skinny girl is just fucking wrong. Sorry.

In closing, here’s a very funny sign someone posted in front of CBS Studios (where Tyra Banks films her talk show). Let the hate mail roll in. Because if there’s anything I’ve learned, it’s that if anyone has more rabid fans than Justin Guarini, it’s Tyra.

  • I somewhat see your point but you’re still a shallow fuck Evil. Times are changing and nobody wants to buy clothes that they can’t realistically see anyone actually wear in public.

But who am I to judge, after all I am a jeans and t-shirt kinda girl.

  • Janice Dickinson is gorgeous and her style is tremendous (though not in a fat way). Beyond that, she’s hilarious. What’s not to love about this goddess? I wish she were my grandma.

  • Janice is a bitch because she doesn’t eat. Put a little food in that tummy and she would be sweet as pie.

  • I absolutely adore Janice. People…she knows what she is talking about a hell of a lot more than we do so give her a break. No she is not helping the fashion industry get better but no matter what we do its not going to change. Like he said noone wants to see a bunch of chubby ordinary people in amazing clothes. You can call me a bitch. I already know I am but face it…deep down you think the same thing too. Tiny gorgous people were put on the earth to do something.

  • Thing is though, because we have all these ultra-skinny models, designers make clothes that are designed to look good on them – someone who is stick thin and has no waist.

That’s no good for someone like me (who is pretty much the same size as every other ‘normal’ person’ where I have a waist and large hips and bust and as soon as i try on any of these wonderful glamorous clothes that are made for someone with a figure like a rake, they look awful. Then that makes me feel bad, just for having a normal figure and yet another reason for people to develop fixations about their size and weight. If we had models that were beautiful with a healthy figure, the designers would have to work harder to make clothes that would suit a healthy nation and they would probably sell more (and I’m not talking just about your ‘haute-couture’ designers, I’m meaning the high-street stores too.)

But then again, making clothes to only fit rake-sized people is just another way for designers to make their clothes unattainable – not only would we have not enough money to buy that gorgeous designer gown, but we’d also be too big to fit into it. Fashion really is an unfair world.

  • I think fat girls are useless…If their complaining about it they should go lose weight and be like me. I’m skinny and i’m proud of it , even if you have boobs your clothes would not look nice.

  • When you don’t have a clue on the topic, don’t even try to write anything! First find out what people are talking about, and then write what you think!!!

  • Janice Dickenson looks like she has the first four letters of her last name swinging between her old shriveled legs. She’s a she-male and dreams of being as beautiful as she once was. Tyra Banks looks 1000 times better than her, whether at 130 or 200lbs and probably will continue to even when she’s Janice’s age. No matter what you people say, you know it and everyone else does too – Janice Dickenson is simply a plastic nightmare.

  • This design is wicked! You obviously know how to keep a reader amused.
Between your wit and your videos, I was almost
moved to start my own blog (well, almost…HaHa!)
Excellent job. I really loved what you had to say, and more than that, how you presented it.
    Too cool!
